Digital Wellbeing Platforms Gain Traction as BlockP Crosses 1 Million Downloads

Shubham Rangadal, Founder of BlockP, says the platform is evolving beyond content blocking into long term habit building, with plans to expand into schools and digital wellbeing solutions

Concerns around digital distraction and excessive screen time are contributing to the rise of platforms focused on improving online habits, with BlockP crossing 1 million downloads globally.
Developed by NovaFocus Pvt Ltd and launched in 2023 by Shubham Rangadal, the platform operates within the emerging category of digital wellbeing and behavioural technology. Its tools are designed to help users manage distractions, block explicit content and build consistent digital habits.

The growth reflects a wider shift in how users are approaching technology usage. With individuals spending several hours online daily, concerns around productivity and mental well being are becoming more prominent. Platforms in this space are increasingly positioning digital discipline as an ongoing behavioural challenge rather than a short term solution.
Shubham Rangadal, Founder of BlockP, said, “Digital addiction is no longer a fringe issue and has become common for many users. Our focus has been to help people change how they interact with the internet by combining filtering technology with tools that support consistency and self discipline.”

He added, “Crossing one million downloads shows that this challenge exists across different user groups. The next step is to expand BlockP into a broader digital wellbeing ecosystem that supports long term habit formation.”
The platform combines AI based content filtering with customisable controls, allowing users to manage their digital environment across multiple devices. It is available across mobile, desktop and browser platforms, reflecting the need for consistent usage control in a multi device environment.

BlockP follows a freemium subscription model and has reported recurring revenue along with repeat usage driven by daily engagement. Its user base spans regions including North America, Europe, India and Southeast Asia, indicating that digital distraction is a global concern.
The company is now looking to expand into institutional use cases, particularly in schools, where it aims to offer parental control and monitoring tools. These solutions are intended to help create more structured and safer digital environments for students.
Further development plans include building advanced habit tracking and productivity features, aligning with the broader shift toward integrating digital wellbeing into everyday technology use.
As conversations around focus, mental health and digital consumption continue to grow, platforms such as BlockP are positioning themselves within a space that connects technology with behavioural change.
