Akshay Ghulati, CEO International Shipping, Shiprocket, highlights export preparedness for Maharashtra’s 71 lakh MSMEs through focused awareness sessions
Mumbai, 18 February 2026: Strengthening export awareness among Indian sellers remains a priority for Shiprocket as it advances its on ground initiative, ShiprocketX Yatra, in Mumbai. The programme is designed to educate MSMEs, D2C brands, and emerging exporters on cross border commerce, covering export compliance, logistics planning, market access, and operational preparedness for international trade.
Mumbai plays a strategic role in export enablement due to Maharashtra’s large MSME base. Government data indicates that the state has over 71 lakh registered MSMEs, with significant concentrations across industrial hubs including Mumbai. This makes the region a key contributor to India’s small business export landscape.
Through ShiprocketX Yatra, the company is engaging directly with businesses to address awareness gaps in international commerce. The initiative focuses on helping sellers understand regulatory requirements, shipping infrastructure, digital commerce tools, and the strategies required to expand beyond domestic markets. The objective is to simplify export entry barriers and support sustained global growth.
Akshay Ghulati, CEO International Shipping, Shiprocket, said, “Export awareness and preparedness are just as important as infrastructure when it comes to helping Indian MSMEs scale globally. Through ShiprocketX Yatra, we are working closely with sellers to simplify cross border commerce, build confidence around international expansion, and enable businesses to tap global demand with greater ease. Our continued collaboration with India Post and opening of a new facility will further strengthens this effort by improving export accessibility and operational support for emerging exporters.”
These awareness initiatives are supported by broader collaborations aimed at strengthening export infrastructure accessibility. Shiprocket continues to work alongside India Post, including the operationalisation of a National Account Facility in Mumbai, to enhance coordination, improve service accessibility, and strengthen export readiness for MSMEs entering international markets.
Together, ShiprocketX Yatra and related infrastructure collaborations reflect a continued focus on enabling Indian MSMEs to participate more confidently in global commerce while easing the transition from domestic seller to international brand.
