Flipkart’s Tamil Nadu presence now includes over 25 lakh sq. ft. of supply-chain infrastructure, more than 90 Flipkart Minutes centres and over 1,000 electric two-wheelers in its delivery fleet.

Kalyan Krishnamurthy, Chief Executive Officer of Flipkart Group, said Tamil Nadu’s manufacturing base, technology talent and expanding digital economy are central to the company’s long-term growth in the state.

Nearly 70,000 sellers from Tamil Nadu are using Flipkart to reach customers across India, while the company’s broader seller, supply-chain, technology and service ecosystem supports more than 1.3 lakh direct and indirect jobs in the state.
The company’s presence spans manufacturing clusters, technology infrastructure, logistics, quick commerce, artisan and MSME programmes, agriculture and community initiatives.
Tamil Nadu’s manufacturing base has become an important part of Flipkart’s seller network, with businesses from Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Kancheepuram and Thanjavur using the marketplace to reach customers outside their local markets.

The seller base includes knitwear producers from Tiruppur, textile businesses from Erode and Salem, silk weavers from Kancheepuram and artisan communities from Thanjavur.
Flipkart has dedicated seller growth teams in Tiruppur, Erode, Salem and Chennai that work with businesses on onboarding, cataloguing, logistics integration and capability building.
The company’s supply-chain footprint in Tamil Nadu has expanded to more than 25 lakh sq. ft., supporting movement of goods across the state and to customers elsewhere in India.

Tamil Nadu also houses one of Flipkart Group’s largest technology infrastructure investments in India through its Chennai data centre.
A significant share of the data centre’s power is sourced from renewable energy, while the company sees the state’s technology talent and renewable energy ecosystem as supporting further expansion of its technology operations.
Quick commerce has also expanded within the state.
Flipkart Minutes now operates more than 90 micro-fulfilment centres across Tamil Nadu.
More than 1,000 electric two-wheelers are deployed in the state and represent around one-quarter of the delivery fleet.

Kalyan Krishnamurthy, Chief Executive Officer of Flipkart Group, said Tamil Nadu is an important part of Flipkart’s long-term growth.
“The state brings together a strong manufacturing ecosystem, deep technology talent and a growing digital economy,” Krishnamurthy said.
He said Flipkart’s work with sellers and MSMEs, its technology infrastructure in Chennai and its growing supply-chain network are helping connect businesses across Tamil Nadu with customers throughout India.
Krishnamurthy added that the company intends to deepen its partnership with the Government of Tamil Nadu across digital, manufacturing and economic growth.
Through its Samarth programme, Flipkart is also working with MSMEs, artisans and handicraft producers in the state to expand market access.
The programme is working with TN-RISE to create opportunities for women entrepreneurs, startups and Farmer Producer Organisations.
Agriculture is another part of the company’s engagement with producer communities.
Under Samarth Krishi, Flipkart sources fresh produce from FPOs in Tamil Nadu, connecting farmer collectives with organised demand.The Flipkart Foundation is also supporting community programmes in the state.
Its coastal clean-up initiatives have mobilised more than 2,100 volunteers and reached approximately 6.9 lakh people, alongside programmes supporting vulnerable communities in southern Tamil Nadu.
Other Flipkart Group businesses also operate within Tamil Nadu’s wider commerce ecosystem.
Myntra works with sellers and brands from the state, including knitwear and apparel businesses in Tiruppur and Erode.
Cleartrip connects travellers with destinations across Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, Madurai, Rameshwaram, Tiruchirappalli, Thanjavur, Ooty, Kodaikanal, Coimbatore and the Nilgiris.
Flipkart said it plans to expand collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Government across technology infrastructure, digital commerce, sustainable logistics, financial inclusion and community development.
