Nara Lokesh Launches ₹10,500 Crore Suzlon Wind Projects in Andhra Pradesh

The 1,325 MW projects in Anantapur are expected to generate 1,600 direct and indirect jobs as Suzlon also expands its blade manufacturing facility

Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh inaugurated Suzlon’s 1,325 MW wind energy projects in Anantapur, involving an investment of ₹10,500 crore and expected to generate 1,600 direct and indirect jobs.
Lokesh also inaugurated an expansion of Suzlon’s smart blade manufacturing facility in Ananthapuramu. Two additional production lines have been added to the facility as the company increases its renewable energy manufacturing operations in the state.
“The groundbreaking of 1,325 MW of wind energy projects by Suzlon is another important milestone in this journey, reflecting the growing confidence of leading renewable energy companies in Andhra Pradesh’s progressive policies and investment ecosystem,” Lokesh said.

“Long standing partnerships such as this will be critical to accelerating renewable energy development, creating jobs, attracting investments, and positioning Andhra Pradesh as a leading clean energy hub for India,” he added.
The latest projects build on Suzlon’s association with Andhra Pradesh, which spans more than two decades.
According to information shared by the company, Suzlon has so far catalysed approximately ₹15,500 crore of investment in the state and is executing around 1,600 MW of wind projects.
Its Ananthapur manufacturing facility has an annual capacity of 1,260 MW and currently supports more than 1,200 direct and indirect green jobs.

Suzlon is also involved in skill development initiatives in Andhra Pradesh. Around 12,000 young people, including 3,000 women, are being trained through skill development labs in Uravakonda and Vijayawada.
The wind energy projects come as Andhra Pradesh sees growth across industrial and technology sectors. The expansion of industries, data centres and artificial intelligence related infrastructure is also expected to increase demand for reliable energy.
Suzlon Vice Chairman and Co Founder Girish Tanti said the company has been a long term partner in Andhra Pradesh’s renewable energy development and described the new projects as the next phase of its two decade association with the state.
Suzlon CEO Ajay Kapur said the growth of Andhra Pradesh’s industrial and technology sectors, including data centres and new industries, is changing the state’s energy requirements and increasing the relevance of integrated renewable energy solutions.
The ₹10,500 crore investment combines new wind generation capacity with an expansion of manufacturing operations in Anantapur, adding to Suzlon’s existing renewable energy activities in Andhra Pradesh.
