Yukio has crossed 1,000 beds across two Pune properties in under a year, with Pratap Chatterjee, Founding Leader of Yukio and Executive Director and CFO of TCG Real Estate, outlining plans to take the premium managed living model to other Indian metros.
India’s rental housing market for young professionals is seeing growing interest in residences that combine accommodation with professionally managed services and community facilities. TCG Real Estate has entered this segment through Yukio, its premium managed living brand, and is now preparing to expand the model beyond Pune.
Part of The Chatterjee Group, TCG Real Estate has positioned Yukio for young professionals seeking ready to move accommodation with services that extend beyond conventional rental housing.
In less than a year, Yukio has built a residential capacity of more than 1,000 beds across two Pune properties, Yukio Jobs and Yukio Gates.
The company is now planning to add another 1,500 beds over the next year and take the brand to other metro cities across India.
The planned expansion indicates TCG’s larger ambitions within managed living, an emerging residential category where the offering combines furnished accommodation with professionally operated services and shared amenities.
Yukio residences provide ergonomically designed spaces along with nutritious meals, professional housekeeping and laundry services. Residents also have access to wellness and recreational amenities including a gym, yoga deck, game lounge and basketball ground.
Community programmes form another part of the proposition, with the brand seeking to create opportunities for residents to interact beyond their immediate living spaces.
Technology is also incorporated into resident services, while Yukio’s Growth Lab provides workshops and networking opportunities aimed at the professional and personal interests of residents.
Pratap Chatterjee, Founding Leader of Yukio and Executive Director and CFO of TCG Real Estate, said, āIndia’s urban housing landscape is evolving rapidly, with young professionals seeking higher living standards and a stronger sense of belonging.ā
He added that Yukio takes TCG into a category that moves beyond traditional rental housing by combining accommodation with an environment where residents can live, learn and grow.
The approach reflects a broader difference between conventional rentals and managed accommodation. For professionals relocating between cities or beginning careers away from home, furnishing a residence, arranging meals, managing housekeeping and setting up everyday services can add considerable complexity to the relocation process.
A managed living model brings these requirements within a single residential proposition, while shared amenities and community activities add a social component to the experience.
For TCG Real Estate, Pune has served as the initial market for testing that proposition. Crossing 1,000 beds across Yukio Jobs and Yukio Gates in less than a year has now been followed by plans for a larger capacity increase.
āThe positive response in Pune underscores the growing demand for professionally managed accommodation in India and strengthens our confidence in the sector’s long term prospects. We are therefore accelerating our growth plans with the addition of another 1,500 beds over the next year,ā Chatterjee said.
Yukio’s next phase will therefore be significant for more than its bed count. Expansion into other metro cities will test whether the model established in Pune can translate across urban markets where young professionals face different rental costs, commuting patterns and residential preferences.
TCG Real Estate is part of The Chatterjee Group, a diversified business conglomerate with operations across petrochemicals, chemicals, real estate, technology, life sciences and financial services.
Through Yukio, the group is entering a residential category built around the changing requirements of India’s urban professional population.
With more than 1,000 beds already operational and another 1,500 planned over the coming year, the company’s entry into managed living is moving from an initial Pune presence towards a wider multi city proposition.
