Poonam Sharma, National President, FICCI FLO, addresses policymakers and industry leaders at March 29 session on innovation, entrepreneurship, and inclusive economic participation
New Delhi, March 30, 2026: The FICCI Ladies Organisation commenced its 42nd Annual Session on March 29 at Federation House in New Delhi, positioning the gathering as a platform for discussions on women-led growth and economic participation in India.
Held under the leadership of Poonam Sharma, National President, FICCI FLO, the session convenes representatives from policy, industry, and professional sectors to examine the expanding role of women across emerging and established areas of the economy.
The discussions outline key areas influencing future progress, including entrepreneurship across new sectors, the role of digital transformation and artificial intelligence in business environments, policy support for broader inclusion, and initiatives focused on skill development and capacity building. Sustainable development and social impact remain central to the agenda.
The platform is structured to encourage exchange of ideas, collaboration, and actionable insights that can contribute to strengthening women’s participation in India’s economic journey.
Speaking at the session, Poonam Sharma, National President, FICCI FLO, said, “Over the past year, together we have taken meaningful steps, whether in empowering women, building stronger networks, or creating platforms for dialogue and change. Each initiative, each conversation and each effort has brought us closer to our vision of a more inclusive and empowered society, especially of women. And as we celebrate, we also look ahead with ambition, with responsibility, with courage, because the true strength of growth lies not just in what we have achieved, but also in what we aspire to achieve. As a president, I feel our greatest power lies in our unity.
We uplift one another, mentor one another and stand by one another, because when women support women, extraordinary things happen. So let today be an affirmation of this spirit. Let us continue to lead with purpose and act with empathy, and create an impact that goes far beyond ourselves.”
Established in 1983, FICCI FLO functions as the women’s wing of FICCI and has developed into a national platform supporting women in entrepreneurship and leadership. Its work spans skill development, professional networking, and policy engagement aimed at advancing gender inclusive economic participation.
As part of FICCI, founded in 1927, the organisation continues to build national and international connections while supporting initiatives that contribute to employability and enterprise among women. With a presence across multiple chapters in India and abroad, it remains engaged in efforts to advance a more inclusive economic landscape.
