A new Women’s Day initiative by Shemaroo Entertainment explores the issue often described as the workplace “glass ceiling”, referring to invisible structural barriers that can limit women’s advancement into senior decision making roles.
While diversity policies have become more visible across organisations in recent years, leadership positions across several sectors still reflect a gender imbalance. The initiative attempts to draw attention to this gap between representation and leadership access.
Through a visual narrative, the campaign examines how systemic constraints can influence professional growth even when women demonstrate equal capability, ambition and experience.
Arghya Chakravarty said discussions around inclusion need to go beyond participation and focus on leadership equity.
“Inclusion cannot remain a surface level commitment. As an industry we have made progress in representation, but leadership equity requires deeper introspection. The barriers that limit women’s advancement are often structural and invisible. With this initiative we hope to encourage conversations that lead to meaningful change within organisations and beyond,” Chakravarty said.
The campaign builds on the company’s earlier social messaging initiatives that addressed gender stereotypes in professional roles.
Anuja Trivedi said storytelling can help audiences engage with complex workplace issues.
