Rajesh Rai, Chairman and MD, Jerai Fitness Limited, Siraj Lalani, Master Franchisee, Plus Fitness India, and Faiz Sopariwala, Business Development Head, Plus Fitness India, outline bundled franchise model combining Indian manufacturing and global 24 by 7 gym systems
India’s organised fitness sector is entering a new growth phase as Jerai Fitness Limited and Plus Fitness India move forward with a strategic collaboration to expand 100 gyms across the country. The partnership integrates domestic manufacturing capabilities with an established international franchise system, aiming to accelerate structured gym development across metro and emerging markets.
The collaboration introduces a bundled franchise and equipment model designed to simplify gym setup for entrepreneurs. By combining franchise onboarding, operational systems, and equipment procurement within a single integrated framework, the model reduces vendor coordination challenges and minimises setup delays. The structure is intended to support scalability, operational consistency, and long term business sustainability.
Rajesh Rai, Chairman and MD, Jerai Fitness Limited, said, “Our passion for producing equipment majorly in house has been instrumental in Jerai Fitness growth. By manufacturing domestically, Jerai ensures quality control, cost efficiencies, reduced import dependency, and support for the Make in India initiative. Our belief is that fitness infrastructure should be accessible and affordable for every serious entrepreneur entering the fitness industry.”
Jerai Fitness Limited brings over three decades of experience in fitness equipment manufacturing, with automated processes that include robotic welding, fully automated assembly lines, and advanced Turkish and Japanese machinery. The company caters to commercial gyms, fitness chains, boutique studios, corporate institutions, government bodies, defence establishments, hospitality groups, educational institutions, healthcare organisations, and individual customers.
Siraj Lalani, Master Franchisee, Plus Fitness India, said, “Long term goal for Plus Fitness India is to build a structured, professionally managed gym network that empowers communities across metro cities and emerging markets, and the 100 gym expansion strategy aligns with the rising demand for organized fitness infrastructure in India.”
Faiz Sopariwala, Business Development Head, Plus Fitness India, said, “This partnership with Jerai Fitness Limited allows us to integrate world class franchise systems with India’s most trusted equipment manufacturer. Our focus is not just opening gyms, but building profitable, sustainable businesses for franchise partners while contributing to a healthier nation.”
Plus Fitness India operates as part of an international gym franchise network with more than 350 clubs globally across Australia, New Zealand, India, and other Asia Pacific markets. Its 24 by 7 access model, standardised infrastructure, and technology driven systems have supported expansion across multiple territories.
The broader fitness market outlook supports this expansion. India’s fitness equipment market was estimated at Rs 2,500 crore in 2024 and is projected to reach Rs 4,600 crore by 2029 at a compound annual growth rate of 13 percent, according to the Wazir report. Growth drivers include rising health awareness, corporate wellness adoption, and lifestyle shifts across urban and semi urban regions.
The 100 gym rollout positions Jerai Fitness Limited and Plus Fitness India within a rapidly formalising sector, offering a structured entry pathway for entrepreneurs while expanding access to organised fitness infrastructure nationwide.
