Dr. Sharmistha Mondal, Founder of Be.ing painfree, presents patented heat-activated sanitary pad technology developed after research with over 3,000 women
Bengaluru, March 1, 2026: A shift is emerging in India’s menstrual wellness market as Be.ing painfree introduces an integrated hygiene and pain management system, embedding plant-based cramp relief technology directly into sanitary pads.
The innovation places menstrual pain intervention within the hygiene product itself, a space traditionally limited to absorbency and comfort. By integrating active relief into the pad structure, the brand positions menstrual care beyond flow management and into functional symptom support.
The company has been granted a patent titled “Cramp Relieving Sanitary Pad and Process for Its Preparation,” formalising the embedded delivery mechanism behind the product. The pad combines high-absorbency layers with plant-based actives that respond to body heat and moisture during use. The formulation is designed to be non-hormonal and non-steroidal, intended for repeated monthly application.
Be.ing painfree was built following pattern mapping and research conducted with more than 3,000 women. Over a four-year development cycle, the founding team engaged in clinical consultations, product testing, and formulation refinement to address menstrual cramps alongside secondary symptoms such as bloating and gut discomfort.
Dr. Sharmistha Mondal, Founder of Be.ing painfree, said, “With the launch of Be.ing painfree, we are introducing a brand built on one simple belief; any pain that disrupts daily living should never be considered normal. We are here to simplify life for women by offering solutions that are safe, natural, and work without compromise.”
Beyond the sanitary pad, the brand’s portfolio includes a fast-acting topical cramp relief gel and a debloat superfood formulation. Together, the range aims to provide a layered approach to menstrual comfort rather than single-point intervention.
The startup was selected for Cohort 1 of WTFund, an initiative founded by Nikhil Kamath that supports differentiated early-stage ventures. Products are priced between INR 299 and INR 699 and are available through the company’s official website and select online marketplaces.
The entry of integrated relief technology into mainstream hygiene products signals a broader evolution in how menstrual health is addressed within India’s consumer health ecosystem.
