Rohan Paul, Business Head, India and Neighboring Markets, Vision Care, ZEISS India, said the outdoor activation marks the company’s first large-scale direct consumer campaign as it completes 180 years in optics.
ZEISS Vision Care India has taken over Turner Road Junction in Bandra with eight interconnected billboards as part of an outdoor campaign encouraging Mumbai residents to prioritise regular eye examinations and visual health.
The activation forms part of ZEISS’ global Take Care of Your Vision and Visual Health campaign and coincides with the company’s 180-year legacy in optics.
The campaign places eye health messaging across one of Mumbai’s busy commuter routes, using the eight-billboard installation to reach people moving through the Bandra junction every day.
Rohan Paul, Business Head, India and Neighboring Markets, Vision Care, ZEISS India, said the campaign represents a new approach for the company in India.
“At ZEISS, we believe good vision is essential to everyday life, yet regular eye care is often overlooked,” Paul said.
He said India remains an important market for ZEISS and that the company intends to combine its work in optical innovation with greater awareness around regular eye examinations.
“This campaign marks a bold step for ZEISS as we take our message directly to consumers for the first time through a large-scale outdoor activation,” Paul said.
He added that the company plans to build on the campaign with further initiatives focused on customers and access to quality vision care.
The campaign was conceptualised in-house and follows a Delhi Metro takeover launched in July.
Through both activations, ZEISS is seeking to take conversations around preventive eye care into public spaces used by large numbers of commuters.
The Mumbai campaign also extends the company’s visual health messaging beyond retail environments and eye care centres by placing it directly within a high-traffic urban location.
ZEISS said its vision care products are developed for different stages of life, from children and working professionals to older adults.
Its vision care solutions are available through opticians and ZEISS Vision Centers.
The company operates across optics and optoelectronics, with activities spanning semiconductor manufacturing technology, industrial quality and research, medical technology and consumer markets.
ZEISS was founded in 1846 in Jena, Germany, and is headquartered in Oberkochen.
The group currently has around 46,600 employees and operates across nearly 50 countries.
