Powered by NuHer, the podcast begins with stand up comic Aditi Mittal and will bring Shaili Chopra, Adhuna Bhabani and Shweta Salve into conversations on perimenopause, menopause and hormonal health.
Conversations about women’s health can become noticeably quieter when the subject turns to perimenopause and menopause. Lisa Ray wants to change that with Is It Hot in Here!, a new podcast created as a space for open conversations about women’s health, hormonal changes and life through midlife and beyond.
The author, actor and wellness advocate has launched the series powered by NuHer, the women’s midlife healthcare and hormonal wellness platform she co founded.
Rather than approaching menopause only through clinical terminology, the podcast uses personal conversations, humour and practical information to discuss experiences that women may otherwise speak about privately, or sometimes not at all.
The first episode brings Lisa Ray together with Indian stand up comic Aditi Mittal. Their conversation addresses perimenopause, menopause and women’s bodies through humour, using comedy to make subjects that can carry hesitation or embarrassment easier to discuss.
That tone is central to what Is It Hot in Here! is attempting to create. The podcast is positioned not simply around symptoms, but around making midlife health easier to understand and talk about.
Future episodes are expected to explore hormonal changes, integrative wellness, sleep, mood balance and self advocacy in healthcare. The series will also look at how women understand and respond to changes in their bodies during midlife.
Guests expected to appear in upcoming episodes include Shaili Chopra, artist and entrepreneur Adhuna Bhabani and actor Shweta Salve.
For Lisa Ray, the podcast is closely connected with the reason behind NuHer itself.
Speaking about the platform and the series, Lisa Ray said, “NuHer was born out of a realization that women deserve a safe space where they are seen, heard, and supported with real science and empathy. Menopause is not the beginning of the end; it is a woman’s prime. This podcast is an extension of our mission to bring absolute candor, love, and laughter to perimenopause, health, and midlife. Having like-minded guests join the series sets the exact tone we want, approachable, unfiltered, and fearlessly open.”
The emphasis on conversation is significant because the podcast seeks to move women’s midlife health beyond the idea that it is something to be dealt with silently. It presents menopause and perimenopause as subjects that can be discussed openly among women, families and across generations.
There is also a deliberate effort to look beyond physical health. The series intends to explore female agency and vitality while giving listeners information that can help them understand hormonal and health changes more clearly.
NuHer itself focuses on supporting women through perimenopause and menopause. Its approach combines medical expertise, evidence based therapies and personalised wellness strategies for women navigating midlife health changes.
Through Is It Hot in Here!, that focus moves into a conversational format. The podcast creates room for lived experiences alongside health information, allowing guests to discuss subjects that may not always fit comfortably into conventional conversations around women’s wellness.
Aditi Mittal’s presence in the opening episode establishes that direction early. Humour becomes a way into the subject rather than a way of dismissing it, allowing conversations about bodies, ageing and hormonal changes to become more accessible.
The series also places midlife itself under a different lens. Instead of treating menopause as an endpoint, it looks at the period as another stage of a woman’s life that deserves information, attention and informed healthcare choices.
The first episode featuring Aditi Mittal is available on YouTube and audio streaming platforms, with further episodes featuring different voices expected to continue the conversation.
With Is It Hot in Here!, Lisa Ray and NuHer are putting subjects such as perimenopause, menopause, sleep, mood and hormonal health into a format built around something women have always relied upon: talking to one another openly.
