Tamil Nadu Health Minister Dr. K.G. Arunraj Inaugurates 120 Bed Maa Kauvery Hospital in Chennai

Dedicated women and children’s hospital at Radial Road brings maternity, fertility, neonatology, paediatrics and critical care services under one roof

Dr. K.G. Arunraj, Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu, inaugurated Maa Kauvery, a new 120 bed hospital dedicated to women and children at Kauvery Hospital, Radial Road, Chennai.
The facility brings together maternity care, obstetrics and gynaecology, fertility services, neonatology, paediatrics and paediatric critical care.
The inauguration was attended by Dr. S Chandrakumar, Founder and Executive Chairman, Kauvery Group of Hospitals, Dr. Manivannan Selvaraj, Founder and Managing Director, Dr. Aravindan Selvaraj, Co Founder and Executive Director, and Dr. D. Senguttuvan, Co Founder and Executive Director.

Maa Kauvery will provide round the clock maternity care for normal and high risk pregnancies, with clinical teams available throughout pregnancy, labour and childbirth.
Dedicated birthing facilities will be supported by antenatal, delivery and postnatal care for mothers and newborns.
The hospital will also provide laparoscopic gynaecologic surgery and fetal medicine services.
Fertility care forms another part of the facility’s services, with assisted reproductive procedures including Intrauterine Insemination and In Vitro Fertilization.
For newborns requiring specialised treatment, Maa Kauvery has a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

According to the hospital, the NICU is equipped to manage critically ill newborns, including premature babies born before 30 weeks of gestation or weighing less than 1.5 kg.
The unit will have round the clock access to neonatal specialists, respiratory support and advanced life support technologies.
Paediatric services include paediatric pulmonology, nephrology, haematology, neonatology and intensive care.
The hospital also has a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and will provide 24 hour paediatric emergency services for critically ill and high risk children.
Dr. D. Senguttuvan, Co Founder and Executive Director, Kauvery Group of Hospitals, said the Chennai facility follows the model developed through the group’s existing Maa Kauvery hospital in Trichy.

“Since 2024, Kauvery Hospital has been successfully running a 200 bed Maa Kauvery in Trichy, developing and refining an integrated model of care for women and children,” Dr. Senguttuvan said.
“With the launch of Maa Kauvery at Radial Road in Chennai, we are bringing this proven and perfected model to the city, combining specialised expertise, advanced infrastructure and compassionate care in one place,” he added.
The hospital will also provide healthcare services for women across different stages of life, including adolescent health, reproductive health, fertility and menopause.
Its gynaecological services will cover menstrual health and other gynaecological conditions. A counselling clinic will provide personalised health advice and preventive care.
Specialised services for gynaecologic oncology and breast health, including mammography, will also be available at the facility.
