Solar LED Solutions Take Centre Stage as Surya Roshni Participates in TERI’s LaBL 2.0 Launch at WSDS 2026

New Delhi, February 27, 2026: Surya Roshni Limited participated in the launch of Lighting a Billion Lives 2.0 at the Dinner of Hope hosted by The Energy and Resources Institute during the World Sustainable Development Summit 2026 Silver Jubilee Edition. The programme was formally unveiled on February 26, 2026, at Taj Palace Hotel, Diplomatic Enclave, New Delhi.
Lighting a Billion Lives 2.0 builds on TERI’s clean energy initiative that has impacted over 15 million lives and now aims to address evolving challenges in energy access, climate resilience and livelihood generation. Endorsed by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, the initiative is structured to scale decentralised clean energy solutions through community-driven and climate-responsive models.

During the pledge segment of the evening, Surya Roshni Limited presented its Solar LED lighting solutions as part of the Press the Light for LaBL moment. The segment included a live pledge counter and ceremonial light activation, symbolising collective commitment toward expanding clean energy access across underserved regions.
The programme opened with welcome remarks and an address by Dr Vibha Dhawan, Director General, TERI, followed by a special address by Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The evening also included the release of the TERI and MNRE Joint Policy Paper, unveiling of the LaBL 2.0 mission and vision, logo and website launch, along with a screening of the vision film. Ministerial addresses and senior dignitary engagements highlighted the platform’s national and international relevance.
