Gujarati Family Series Haju Vaat Chale Chhe Premieres on ShemarooMe on October 22
ShemarooMe premieres the Gujarati original Haju Vaat Chale Chhe on October 22, 2026. The family entertainer follows Shivani Dave as she navigates arranged marriage proposals, independence and changing relationship expectations.

Featuring Jhanvi Gurnani, Raunaq Kamdar, Chhaya Vora and an ensemble cast, the original follows a Vadodara bank employee navigating arranged marriage proposals. Saurabh Srivastava, COO Digital Businesses, Shemaroo, discusses the platform’s plans for culturally rooted Gujarati entertainment.

ShemarooMe has added the Gujarati original series Haju Vaat Chale Chhe to its Shemaroo Premiere Originals slate, with the family entertainer premiering exclusively on the streaming platform on October 22, 2026.
The series explores contemporary relationships, arranged marriage expectations and family dynamics through the experiences of a young woman living in Vadodara.
At the centre of the story is Shivani Dave, an independent bank employee who must balance her personal ambitions with her family’s expectations surrounding marriage.
As potential matches are introduced, Shivani encounters different personalities and perspectives on relationships. Each episode features a prospective groom, creating situations that bring questions of compatibility, independence and family expectations into focus.
The series uses humour and familiar household conversations to address subjects including financial equality, self respect and changing attitudes towards marriage.

Rather than presenting arranged marriage solely as a traditional family decision, the story examines how individual aspirations and personal choices influence relationships.
The series features Jhanvi Gurnani, Raunaq Kamdar, Anurag Prapanna, Chhaya Vora, Chetan Dhanani, Dhairya Thakkar, Parikshit Tamalliya, Moulik Nayak, Pramarth Pandit and Rutesh Patel.
The ensemble cast contributes to the portrayal of family interactions and the different perspectives that emerge during marriage discussions.
For ShemarooMe, Haju Vaat Chale Chhe is part of a wider effort to develop original Gujarati programming based on the language, humour and everyday experiences of its intended audience.

The platform is focusing on stories developed within specific cultural settings rather than relying primarily on adaptations of mainstream entertainment formats.
ShemarooMe also intends to reach Gujarati speaking viewers beyond the state, including audiences across India and members of the Indian diaspora.
Saurabh Srivastava, COO Digital Businesses, Shemaroo, said, “With Haju Vaat Chale Che, we are bringing to audiences stories that feel closer to home—rooted in Gujarati culture, warm in their storytelling, and made to be enjoyed together as a family. At ShemarooMe, we believe there is immense potential in telling authentic regional stories that audiences can truly connect with. Following Kajodu, this is another important step in our journey to build a stronger Gujarati web series offering, bringing together some of the finest talent and storytellers from the industry. Our aim is simple: to give Gujarati audiences more compelling stories in their own language, reflecting their culture, relationships and everyday lives.”

Srivastava identified the series as another addition to ShemarooMe’s Gujarati programming following Kajodu.
The platform’s approach places emphasis on original stories that reflect familiar social experiences while addressing subjects relevant to contemporary audiences.
In Haju Vaat Chale Chhe, conversations about prospective marriage partners provide the setting for discussions about personal independence, financial expectations and mutual respect.
The series combines these subjects with family humour, presenting relationship decisions through everyday interactions rather than dramatic conflict alone.
Its setting in Vadodara and focus on Gujarati family life are central to the programme’s identity.
With the new original, ShemarooMe continues to develop its regional entertainment catalogue and pursue stories intended to connect with Gujarati speaking audiences in India and overseas.
Haju Vaat Chale Chhe premieres on October 22, 2026, exclusively on ShemarooMe.
