Zameer Kochar, Chief Marketing Officer at Angel One, and Vijay Koshy, President of TVF, said the 15 episode series 12th Man follows Mohit Kumar’s return to purpose after an injury ends his playing career.
Angel One and The Viral Fever have co created 12th Man, a 15 episode microdrama series released on Instagram during the IPL season. The series is available on the Instagram handles of Angel One, TVF and Micronama.
Starring Anshuman Rai, 12th Man follows Mohit Kumar, a former Ranji cricketer whose playing career ends after an injury. Unable to return to the playing eleven, he remains close to the game as the 12th man, carrying drinks and watching chances pass him by. Over time, his surroundings push him to find another way to contribute to the sport.
The series marks Angel One’s move into short form fiction through a format built for mobile viewing. It also extends the company’s cricket association beyond sponsorship and on ground activity into character led content for younger viewers.
“12th Man is a story about resilience and quiet self belief, qualities we see in young India every day. We chose the microdrama format because it reflects how this generation engages with stories today, and we partnered with TVF because few storytellers understand this audience as instinctively as they do. Our goal was simple, to create something people don’t just watch, but truly feel,” said Zameer Kochar, Chief Marketing Officer, Angel One.
“At TVF, we’ve always believed that stories find new forms as audiences evolve. With Micronama and 12th Man, we wanted to explore a storytelling format that feels native to today’s mobile first generation while still retaining emotional depth and relatability. Partnering with Angel One on this has been exciting because they approached the idea not just as a brand integration exercise, but as a genuine story rooted in aspiration, resilience, and youth culture,” said Vijay Koshy, President, TVF.
Earlier this IPL season, Angel One launched Cricket Park, a cricket amusement park experience at TSG Sports Arena in Mumbai. The activation brought together around 300 attendees, including digital creators and cricket enthusiasts.
With 12th Man, Angel One continues its cricket led outreach through Instagram first content. The company is the Official Associate Partner of Tata IPL from 2024 to 2028.
Angel One Limited is a technology led financial services company offering broking and advisory services, margin funding and distribution of third party financial products. The company serves 37.4 million clients through digital platforms including the Angel One Mobile App, SmartAPI and Smart Money.
