Hindi film music spanning several decades continues to draw large digital audiences, with Shemaroo Filmi Gaane crossing 75 million YouTube subscribers and introducing a 15 episode series dedicated to 75 singers, composers and lyricists.
Shemaroo Filmi Gaane, the flagship YouTube channel of Shemaroo Entertainment, has reached 75 million subscribers and, according to information supplied by the company, is now among the global Top 10 music channels.
The channel is marking the milestone with a brand film centred on the thought, “Safar alag, kisse alag… Gaane aaj bhi wahi.”
The film follows people through different everyday situations, including travelling by auto and cab, spending time at a barbershop, studying at home, sharing time as a couple and attending a retirement gathering.
The song “Chala Jata Hoon, Kisi Dhun Mein” connects the different situations before the film reveals the 75 million subscriber milestone.

Alongside the brand film, Shemaroo Filmi Gaane is introducing Celebrating 75 Music Legends, a 15 episode YouTube series dedicated to 75 figures from Hindi film music.
Each episode will feature five singers, composers and lyricists through songs, stories and trivia, taking viewers through different periods of Hindi cinema music.
The initiative connects the channel’s subscriber milestone with the artists behind songs that have remained part of popular Hindi cinema across generations.
Shemaroo Filmi Gaane has a catalogue of more than 10,000 songs covering music from the 1950s through contemporary Hindi cinema.
According to the company, the channel currently records 300 million views each month.
Shemaroo Filmi Gaane forms part of Shemaroo Entertainment’s YouTube network of more than 100 channels covering Bollywood, regional content, devotional programming, children’s entertainment and other genres.
The wider network collectively records 3 billion views each month, according to figures provided by the company.
The new 15 episode series will use Shemaroo Filmi Gaane’s existing digital audience to revisit the work of 75 music figures while introducing their songs and stories to audiences discovering Hindi film music through YouTube.
