Doraemon Makes India Theatrical Debut as PVR INOX Pictures Sets October 2 Release

Tetsuo Yajima, Director of Doraemon the Movie: New Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil, and Gautam Dutta, CEO, Revenue and Operations, PVR INOX Limited, share details of the Hindi, Tamil and Telugu release, with select screenings in 4DX.

Doraemon will make his theatrical debut in India on October 2, 2026, as PVR INOX Pictures releases Doraemon the Movie: New Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil across cinemas in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
The film will also receive select 4DX screenings, adding movement and sensory effects to its underwater adventure.
Directed by Tetsuo Yajima, the film is the 45th theatrical feature in the Doraemon franchise.
The story follows Doraemon, Nobita, Shizuka, Gian and Suneo as an underwater camping trip leads them to a sunken ship and a mysterious young Sea Dweller named El.

Their journey takes them to the hidden underwater civilisation of the Mu Federation, where the Castle of the Undersea Devil becomes central to an escalating threat.
As the group explores the underwater world, they must gain the trust of the Sea Dwellers, discover the secrets surrounding the castle and confront a danger that could affect the Earth.
Doraemon’s gadgets, Nobita’s courage and the friendship among the group remain central to the story, which combines fantasy, humour and adventure.

Sharing his thoughts on the Indian release, Director Tetsuo Yajima said, “I’m truly delighted to bring Doraemon the Movie: New Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil to audiences in India. 10,928 meters, the deepest point in the ocean ever reached by humankind. Only 13 people have actually gone there, apparently fewer than the number of people who have traveled to space. And beyond that unknown world lies something even further beyond.”
He added, “What kinds of creatures might live there? What breathtaking sights might await us? Doesn’t it make you excited just thinking about it? Let’s join Doraemon and his friends on an adventure into a deep sea world that no one has ever seen before! I look forward to seeing you at the theater.”

Doraemon the Movie: New Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil will be distributed in India by PVR INOX Pictures.
Tickets will be available through the PVR INOX app and website as well as leading online ticketing platforms.
