Mumbai, 24 February 2026: Nemetschek Group has appointed Alok Sharma as Managing Director and Vice President, India, strengthening its leadership presence in one of the world’s fastest expanding construction markets.
The appointment comes as India continues to consolidate its position as the third-largest construction market globally, supported by sustained infrastructure investments, urban development programmes, transport corridor expansion and public sector modernisation initiatives. With digital adoption increasingly linked to project efficiency, compliance and lifecycle optimisation, the Group has identified India as a key growth market within its global portfolio.

In his new role, Alok Sharma will lead the company’s India strategy, focusing on expanding enterprise relationships, deepening government engagement and advancing subscription and SaaS-led construction technology models. His mandate includes scaling Building Information Modelling adoption across infrastructure and real estate stakeholders while strengthening the local partner ecosystem.
Alok brings over three decades of experience in building and scaling software businesses across India and the SAARC region, with particular focus on the architecture, engineering and construction sector. His experience spans enterprise negotiations, public sector engagement and transitions from perpetual licensing structures to cloud-based subscription frameworks.

Commenting on the appointment, Pete Nicholson, Senior Vice President, Nemetschek Group, said that India represents one of the most dynamic construction markets globally, adding that strengthening local leadership will be central to long-term expansion as infrastructure investments scale and digital mandates gain momentum.
Alok Sharma said that India’s built environment ecosystem is entering a decisive phase of digital transformation aligned with the broader Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, noting that efficiency, transparency and lifecycle optimisation are increasingly shaping technology adoption across public and private sector projects.

With this appointment, Nemetschek Group aims to align its multi-brand technology portfolio more closely with India’s infrastructure ambitions while reinforcing its long-term commitment to the market.
Founded in 1963 by Prof. Georg Nemetschek, the Group employs over 4,000 professionals globally and reported revenue of EUR 1,191.2 million and EBITDA of EUR 371.1 million in 2025, according to preliminary figures.
