National Project Honour Conferred on Kishtwar Transmission Initiative

Arun Sharma, CEO, Resonia Ltd., highlights ₹4.07 billion project enabling evacuation of 3,014 MW hydropower to India’s National Grid

Mumbai, 20 February, 2026: Resonia Ltd. has been recognised at the IPMA Global Project Profession Forum 2026 for its Kishtwar Transmission Limited project, receiving the National Project Excellence Award for transmission infrastructure.
Located in the Chenab Valley of Jammu and Kashmir, the project is designed to evacuate up to 3,014 MW of hydropower to India’s National Grid. Commissioned in December 2025 with an investment of ₹4.07 billion, the initiative strengthens the Northern Grid while supporting renewable energy integration.

The project comprises a 400/132 kV GIS substation with 400 MVA transformer capacity and 125 MVA reactor capacity, along with associated 400 kV transmission infrastructure. The development functions as a critical pooling and evacuation hub, contributing to grid stability and reducing transmission constraints in the region.
Arun Sharma, CEO, Resonia, said, “We are honoured to receive this recognition for Kishtwar Transmission Limited. The project reflects our strong execution capabilities in challenging terrains and our commitment to strengthening grid reliability and advancing India’s clean energy transition.”

The award recognises excellence in project management, innovation, and stakeholder engagement. The IPMA Global Project Profession Forum is an international platform that acknowledges impactful infrastructure achievements across sectors.
Resonia Limited, formerly known as Sterlite Grid32 Limited, operates over 13,671 circuit kilometers of transmission lines across India and plays a significant role in supporting renewable energy integration into the national grid. The company uses technologies such as helicranes for project execution and drones for remote surveying and monitoring to improve efficiency and minimise environmental impact.

The infrastructure business of Sterlite Power Transmission Limited was demerged into Sterlite Grid 5 Limited effective October 08, 2024. Sterlite Grid 5 Limited subsequently entered into a joint venture with GIC of Singapore, following which transmission projects in India are being executed through Resonia Ltd.
