Goa Showcases AI Mission 2027 Roadmap to Global Delegates at Bharat Mandapam Summit

Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant leads state delegation as Goa pavilion attracts international engagement at India AI Impact Summit 2026

New Delhi, February 22, 2026: Goa positioned itself as an emerging artificial intelligence hub as it showcased its AI Mission 2027 roadmap to global delegates at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
The Goa Pavilion, set up by the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (DITE&C), Government of Goa, drew strong interest from international representatives, technology leaders and policymakers during the six-day summit. More than 200 attendees visited the pavilion to explore the state’s AI-driven initiatives and startup ecosystem.

The delegation was led by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and Minister for Information Technology, Electronics and Communications Shri Rohan Khaunte. The team included Shri Sanjeev Ahuja, IAS, Secretary (ITE&C); Shri Kabir Shirgaonkar, Director, DITE&C; Dr Milind Sakhardande, Joint Director, DITE&C; Shri Siddhart Borkar, Deputy Director, DITE&C; Shri Gaurabh Sawal, Assistant Director, DITE&C; Shri D. S. Prashant, CEO, SITPC; Shri Heramb Kanekar, Senior Associate, SITPC; along with other officials.

The pavilion featured five Goan startups showcasing innovations across emerging technology domains. International delegates from France, Sweden, Japan, Cambodia, Canada, USA, Ghana and Cuba, along with representatives from the British High Commission, engaged in discussions on collaboration opportunities.
Visitors explored Goa’s framework for responsible AI adoption, industry-academia partnerships and deep-tech ecosystem development. Shri Lal Chand Mangal, Distinguished Scientist and Director General at DRDO, visited the pavilion and expressed interest in hyperspectral imaging technology developed by Phosic India Pvt. Ltd., highlighting its potential applications in defence and homeland security.

Startup founders also reported meaningful engagement. Siddharth Manjrekar and Sarvesh Patkar of Frover Labs Pvt. Ltd. noted that the summit enabled high-value networking and exposure through the state-supported platform. Gaurish Datta Pangam from DivvyUp and Grow shared that enterprise leaders across sectors including security, manufacturing and media expressed interest in scalable AI solutions.
As the summit concluded, the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications and participating startups returned with new connections and collaboration prospects, reinforcing Goa’s growing presence in India’s AI and innovation landscape.
