Digital Skills Initiative Reaches Three More Countries as Bitget and UNICEF Expand Youth Programme
More than 642,000 young people, parents and teachers have participated in the UNICEF Game Changers Coalition, with girls accounting for 52 per cent of participants as the programme continues to expand digital learning opportunities across emerging economies.

The UNICEF Game Changers Coalition, supported by Bitget through a three year partnership, has expanded to Bangladesh, Indonesia and Bolivia, extending its reach to 11 countries while providing digital education, artificial intelligence and financial literacy through video game

Efforts to improve digital education for young people are expanding across emerging economies as the UNICEF Game Changers Coalition extends its programme to Bangladesh, Indonesia and Bolivia with support from Bitget, broadening access to future focused skills through video game development.
The expansion increases the coalition’s presence to 11 countries, building on programmes already operating in Armenia, Brazil, Cambodia, India, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Morocco and South Africa. Through the initiative, participants receive learning opportunities in digital education, artificial intelligence and financial literacy using video game creation as a practical learning tool.

Bitget joined the coalition in 2025 through a three year partnership with UNICEF Luxembourg to support financial literacy, blockchain education and digital skills, particularly for young people and girls in emerging economies. The company contributes educational resources, blockchain learning content and mentors from the Web3 ecosystem to support the programme.
According to the organisations, the coalition has reached more than 642,000 young people, parents and teachers worldwide, with girls making up 52 per cent of participants. More than 20,000 video games have been created by young participants through the programme’s curriculum.

During Cambodia’s National Game Jam in December 2025, more than 1,000 participants joined a 48 hour challenge to develop video games focused on social issues. Simran Alphonso, Head of Public Relations at Bitget, said, “In Cambodia, UNICEF gave us a glimpse into the youth’s aptitude. From coding garbage segregation to healthy eating, they built a range of real world creative games. With strong teaching skills of teachers, we’re positive about our upcoming course and future endeavors which will support these leaders of tomorrow.”
Gracy Chen, Chief Executive Officer of Bitget, said, “One of the reasons this partnership means so much to me is because I’ve seen firsthand how quickly young people thrive when they’re given the right opportunities. Seeing UNICEF’s Game Changers Coalition expand into three new markets means many more young people, especially girls, will have the chance to build those skills early.”

Sandra Visscher, Executive Director of UNICEF Luxembourg, said, “Expanding the Game Changers Coalition into Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Bolivia is a milestone in our mission to equip young people, especially girls, with 21st century STEAM and financial skills to shape the future. With partners like Bitget, we’re fostering inclusivity, building a pipeline of women leaders and unlocking economic empowerment across emerging markets.”
The organisations said the coalition seeks to address the economic impact of digital skills gaps while expanding access to technology education for young people across emerging markets.
