ICX Ethernet Switch Manufacturing Begins in Pune as RUCKUS Networks Expands India Operations With Belden

Dr. Ashish Chand, President and CEO, Belden, and Bart Giordano, Senior Vice President & General Manager, RUCKUS Networks, outline plans to use Belden’s Pune manufacturing facility to produce ICX ethernet switches for Indian customers, adding local production to existing research and customer support operations.

RUCKUS Networks is expanding its operations in India by introducing local manufacturing of its ICX ethernet switches at Belden’s existing facility in Pune. The development marks an operational step following Belden’s acquisition of RUCKUS Networks and adds manufacturing to the networking company’s established engineering and customer support operations in the country.
Belden Inc. will use its manufacturing capabilities in Pune to produce ICX ethernet switches for customers across India. The arrangement is intended to improve local product availability and create additional opportunities for RUCKUS Networks to serve Indian enterprises and other organisations.

The expansion connects manufacturing in Pune with RUCKUS Networks’ existing technology operations in Bengaluru and Chennai.
Bengaluru serves as RUCKUS Networks’ largest global location for research and development and customer success. The city also houses Belden’s Customer Innovation Center, where customers, partners and technical specialists work together to develop and validate networking solutions.
In Chennai, RUCKUS Networks operates a Research & Design Centre established in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras Research Park (IITMRP). The centre supports software development, engineering talent and networking research.

The addition of Pune extends the company’s Indian operations beyond research, engineering and customer engagement into local manufacturing.

RUCKUS Networks is also expanding its distribution and operational capabilities in India to serve customers and partners requiring locally manufactured networking equipment and domestic technical support.
The company expects the expansion to create opportunities across sectors where enterprises and public sector organisations require locally supported digital infrastructure.
