An AI powered construction cost intelligence platform developed by NIAT students with 120 clients won recognition from Mivi Co Founder Midhula Devabhaktuni and Sid’s Farm Founder and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kishore Indukuri, earning an international industry learning trip.

An AI powered construction technology platform developed by students at NIAT emerged as one of the standout innovations at TakeOver 2026, securing recognition from industry leaders after presenting a working business with paying customers.
The platform, called BuildTrack, was showcased during NIAT’s cross campus innovation event, where more than 30 student startup teams presented their ventures before a jury comprising entrepreneurs, investors and technology leaders.
BuildTrack is designed as an AI powered construction cost intelligence platform that helps construction companies manage people, inventory, procurement and operations. According to the organisers, the platform already serves 120 clients, moving beyond the prototype stage into commercial deployment.

The student team also received an international industry learning trip following its presentation at the event.
The pitches formed part of BRAVE, NIAT’s startup accelerator programme, which combines three months of online mentoring with an intensive offline learning phase. Across the cohort, one student team generated ₹15 lakh in revenue within 90 days by working with construction sector clients.
Addressing the participants, Midhula Devabhaktuni, Co Founder, Mivi, said, “Ideas are quite cheap. The real challenge is converting them into a product and, more importantly, selling it. Everybody has access to AI today, but as founders your strength will be in defining the right requirement and having the grit and persistence to push through problems and win. What impressed me today is that these students at NIAT have already done the hardest part. They’ve moved beyond ideas to building products that real customers are willing to pay for. That’s where true entrepreneurship begins.”

Dr. Kishore Indukuri, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Sid’s Farm, said, “Winning your first client is never easy, but if you keep going, keep presenting, and keep improving, that becomes the foundation of entrepreneurship. Real success comes from digging deep, building a rock solid foundation, and continuously strengthening your knowledge. Even the simplest problems hold immense potential for innovation when you commit to building depth and solving them with persistence.”
Nivisha Prabhakar, Regional Head of Education, Google Cloud, who was also part of the jury, said, “I was truly inspired by the curiosity, teamwork, and clarity of thought showcased by the students. Innovation begins with bold ideas, but its real impact comes from taking those ideas forward and implementing them. The creativity and entrepreneurial spirit on display today reflect the potential of the next generation of product builders, innovators, and changemakers.”

According to NIAT, the BuildTrack platform addresses the need for real time visibility into construction projects by enabling construction companies, investors and property owners, including non resident Indians, to monitor project progress through digital documentation and updates.
TakeOver 2026 featured more than 150 student teams, which collectively generated over ₹2 crore in revenue during a three month period while developing AI based solutions for sectors including construction, healthcare, education, retail, hospitality, agriculture and financial technology.
