AI Verification Platform VeriMind Wins National Hackathon Award for KLH Aziznagar Students
Three B. Tech. students from KLH Aziznagar won the Artificial Intelligence category at Hackvibes 2.0 for VeriMind, a platform designed to check the reliability of information generated by AI systems using information retrieval and natural language processing.

Er. Koneru Lakshman Havish, Vice President, KL Deemed to be University, congratulated Kuppala Jasmitha, Gorugantula Gayathri and Vuppala Rithvik after their team won the AI category at Hackvibes 2.0, which attracted 234 teams.

A team of three B. Tech. students from KLH Aziznagar campus has won the Artificial Intelligence category at Hackvibes 2.0, a national hackathon that attracted 234 participating teams.
The students, Kuppala Jasmitha, Gorugantula Gayathri and Vuppala Rithvik, received recognition for developing VeriMind, an AI verification platform intended to help users assess the accuracy and reliability of information produced by artificial intelligence systems.
The competition was recently organised at Vignan Institute of Technology & Science, Telangana.
The team’s project addresses AI hallucinations, a problem in which artificial intelligence systems generate responses that may appear credible despite containing inaccurate, contradictory or unsupported information.

VeriMind uses information retrieval and natural language processing (NLP) to examine AI generated content against supporting evidence.
The proposed verification process is intended to help users identify potentially unreliable responses and make more informed decisions when using AI tools.
The project focuses on a practical challenge associated with the growing use of generative AI in education, research and everyday information gathering.
By combining language analysis with evidence retrieval, the students developed a system aimed at making it easier to question and evaluate machine generated responses rather than accepting them without verification.

Er. Koneru Lakshman Havish, Vice President, KL Deemed to be University, congratulated the team on its achievement.
He said, “Our vision at KLH is to nurture future-ready professionals who combine knowledge, creativity and responsibility. Through practical learning and mentorship, we empower students to turn ideas into meaningful solutions and contribute to society. I congratulate the team on applying their knowledge to address a real-world challenge.”
Dr. A. Ramakrishna, Principal, KLH Aziznagar, also congratulated the students, along with members of the faculty and staff.
The team’s success reflects the campus’s emphasis on practical technical education, project development and participation in competitive learning activities.
KLH Aziznagar encourages students to apply classroom knowledge to emerging technological problems through practical assignments and academic mentorship.

The recognition at Hackvibes 2.0 places VeriMind among the winning projects in the competition’s AI domain.
The students’ work also draws attention to the importance of verifying information produced by AI systems, particularly when responses appear convincing but lack sufficient supporting evidence.
