Three Year Industry Partnership Brings XPO Training and Internship Opportunities to Woxsen University
Woxsen University and XPO have signed a three year agreement to connect academic learning with industry experience. The collaboration covers trainee programmes, internships, live projects, faculty engagements, curriculum inputs and professional development initiatives.

Dr V. J. Byra Reddy, Vice Chancellor, Woxsen University, and Sameer Shaikh, Head of XPO India and Senior Director, Financial Shared Services & Technology, outline plans for student projects, faculty industry engagements and executive education through the new agreement.

Woxsen University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with XPO, a North American freight transportation company, to expand opportunities for students and faculty to gain practical industry experience.
The agreement establishes a three year collaboration covering student training, internships, industry projects, academic inputs and professional development programmes.
Under the partnership, eligible Woxsen University students will have access to merit based trainee programmes, relevant internship opportunities and live projects involving XPO’s operations.
Students will also be able to participate in industry visits and interactions with XPO professionals in India, gaining exposure to business practices and workplace requirements.
XPO will engage with students through preplacement discussions and employer interactions. The company will also receive a preferred recruitment slot during Woxsen University’s placement season.

The agreement includes provisions for XPO to contribute industry perspectives to academic programmes, particularly in areas where changing business requirements may influence curriculum development.
XPO professionals may also design and deliver specialised learning modules through Woxsen’s 12 Value Added Credits under its Applied Learning & Industry Interface pathway.
Dr V. J. Byra Reddy, Vice Chancellor, Woxsen University, said, “This strategic partnership with Fortune 500 giant, XPO, exemplifies Woxsen’s commitment to disruptive, industry-integrated education. By uniting our academic rigour with XPO’s global operational expertise, we ensure our students acquire practical skills that allow them to hit the ground running, adapt instantly to fast-evolving industry requirements, and deliver immediate value in high-demand roles.”

Faculty development forms another component of the collaboration.
Woxsen University faculty members will have opportunities to undertake industry engagements or projects lasting four to six weeks at XPO in India.
These engagements are intended to provide exposure to business processes, emerging technologies and operational practices that can inform academic teaching.
The university will also work with XPO on management development programmes, customised executive education and certification courses aligned with the company’s professional learning requirements.
XPO subject matter experts will contribute through guest lectures and academic discussions, providing students and faculty with perspectives from industry practice.

Sameer Shaikh, Head of XPO India and Senior Director, Financial Shared Services & Technology, said, “At XPO, we believe strong industry-academia partnerships are essential to building the workforce of the future. Our collaboration with Woxsen University reflects our commitment to creating meaningful learning experiences that bridge classroom knowledge with real-world business challenges. Through trainee programs, live projects, industry engagement and mentorship opportunities, we look forward to helping students develop the skills to thrive in a rapidly evolving global industry.”
