Efforts to strengthen electronics manufacturing infrastructure in Goa are progressing, with a review of the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster at Tuem highlighting the next phase of development and readiness.
The review meeting, led by IT Minister Shri Rohan Khaunte, focused on accelerating project completion and ensuring that the site is prepared for operational use. Officials from multiple departments, including information technology, infrastructure, power, and emergency services, participated in the assessment.
During the visit, the Minister inspected key facilities such as the warehouse and waste management building, while also reviewing the status of essential infrastructure required for the cluster. The discussions centred on completing utilities and common amenities to enable seamless functioning once operations begin.
Shri Rohan Khaunte emphasised the need for coordinated action among departments to address pending requirements. Specific focus areas included strengthening support from the Fire and Emergency Services, ensuring adequate power infrastructure, and facilitating the installation of communication and internet connectivity at the site.
The meeting also addressed operational readiness, with attention given to maintaining infrastructure standards, security measures, and logistical planning. Departments were directed to expedite follow up actions to avoid delays in project execution.
The Electronic Manufacturing Cluster at Tuem is positioned as a key component of Goa’s industrial development strategy. The project is expected to support investment inflow, enable the growth of electronics manufacturing, and create employment opportunities within the state.
The review reflects a broader push to enhance industrial infrastructure and position Goa as a competitive destination for manufacturing and technology driven investments.
