Financial planning and digital finance converge as FPSB India and IIM Ranchi launch executive programme

The hybrid programme, announced on March 12, will combine the CFP certification pathway with digital finance, AI, sustainable investing and wealth management training, with Chandrakant Sureka of FPSB India and Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava of IIM Ranchi outlining its focus on future ready advisory skills.

A new executive education collaboration between FPSB India and IIM Ranchi is aiming to bring financial planning, digital finance and advanced advisory capabilities into one structured learning pathway for working professionals.
Announced on March 12, the Executive Program in Advanced Financial Planning and Digital Finance has been launched by FPSB India, the Indian subsidiary of Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd., USA, in collaboration with IIM Ranchi. The programme includes a CFP Fast Track Pathway and is designed for professionals seeking the globally recognised CFP certification while building stronger capabilities in personal finance and wealth advisory.

The hybrid programme combines the CFP curriculum with IIM Ranchi’s academic focus on financial analytics, artificial intelligence, sustainable finance and digital transformation. According to the announcement, participants will study areas including AI driven wealth planning, behavioural finance, alternative investments, sustainable finance and ESG frameworks, global regulations and compliance, digital finance strategy and portfolio engineering.

The programme is aligned with the CFP certification framework and is intended to combine academic learning with globally benchmarked financial planning standards. The organisers said the curriculum has been designed to build technical expertise, ethical grounding and practical application skills for professionals pursuing the certification pathway.

FPSB India said it serves as the Indian subsidiary of Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd., USA and administers the CFP certification programme in India in line with international professional standards. IIM Ranchi, established in 2009, said it continues to focus on management education, research, executive learning and interdisciplinary engagement.
The collaboration places financial planning education alongside digital finance, analytics and AI at a time when the advisory profession is adapting to changing client expectations, regulatory complexity and technology led transformation.
