From Classrooms to Credentials, a Technology Training Milestone Emerges via Samsung Innovation Campus

SP Chun, Corporate Vice President at Samsung Southwest Asia, and Karnataka Labour Minister Santosh S. Lad said 2,000 students in Bengaluru completed certification in Artificial Intelligence and Coding through the programme.

Hyderabad, February 5, 2026: A large scale technology training effort has resulted in 2,000 students in Bengaluru completing formal certification in Artificial Intelligence and Coding and Programming under Samsung Innovation Campus, a skills development programme focused on industry aligned learning.
The certification ceremony was held at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru, and brought together representatives from government, academia, and industry. Those present included Basavaraj Horatti, Chairperson of the Karnataka Legislative Council, Santosh S. Lad, Minister for Labour and Employment, Byrathi Suresh, Minister of Urban Development and Town Planning, Saroj Apato, Vice President Strategic Partner at ESSCI, Dr S. V. Suresha, Vice Chancellor of the University of Agricultural Sciences, and SP Chun, Corporate Vice President, Samsung Southwest Asia.

Under the Bengaluru cohort, 1,100 students completed certification in Artificial Intelligence, while 900 students were certified in Coding and Programming. The curriculum combined hands on technical instruction with soft skills inputs aimed at improving workplace readiness and employability.
Samsung Innovation Campus is operational across 10 states in India and is implemented in collaboration with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India through accredited training partners. The programme is designed to provide practical exposure to emerging technologies while aligning learning outcomes with evolving industry requirements.

Speaking at the event, SP Chun said the programme focuses on preparing students for real world challenges by bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. He said the Bengaluru certifications reflect Samsung’s continued investment in building job ready technology talent aligned with India’s digital economy.
Santosh S. Lad said Karnataka’s growth as a technology and innovation hub depends on strong collaboration between industry and educational institutions. He said initiatives that align training with market needs play an important role in strengthening the state’s human capital base.

Launched in India in 2022, Samsung Innovation Campus prioritises access to future technology education, particularly in underserved and semi urban regions. Nationally, the programme has recorded 45 percent participation by women. In addition to technical training, participants receive inputs on communication, teamwork, and professional readiness.
Samsung has indicated plans to expand its skilling interventions in Karnataka as part of its broader national objective of training 20,000 students in future technologies.
