International Women’s Day brings creator economy spotlight to Mumbai at Times Entertainment gala

Held on March 9 at The Lalit in Mumbai, the Power Creator Awards Women’s Edition honoured women across more than 20 categories, with jury members including Divya Dutta, Rasika Dugal, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, and Anup Soni recognising work across comedy, fashion, music, food, fitness, and podcasting.

Women creators across India’s digital ecosystem were brought into focus in Mumbai as Times Entertainment hosted the Power Creator Awards Women’s Edition on March 9 at The Lalit, marking International Women’s Day with a celebration of creativity, influence, and community building. The event highlighted women whose work extends beyond content creation into wider cultural and social impact.
The evening brought together names from entertainment and digital media including Hina Khan, Kusha Kapila, Sanjana Sanghi, Sona Mohapatra, Sonnalli Seygall, and Sumukhi Suresh, reflecting the growing overlap between mainstream entertainment and the creator economy. The awards followed a dual winner format, combining Jury Choice honours with Popular Choice selections voted on by audiences across the country.

The jury panel included Divya Dutta, Rasika Dugal, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, and Anup Soni, who selected winners after a detailed review process. Shweta Tripathi Sharma said, “To witness so many creators through the jury process was a reminder that creation is a reflection of who we are,” while Rasika Dugal said she was particularly moved by the Breaking the Bias category and the honesty reflected in the entries.
Among the category winners highlighted were Srishti Dixit and Aanchal Agrawal in Power Comedy Creator, Rachel D’cruz and Jhanvi Bhatia in Power Fashion and Style, Mira Erda and Saniya Mistri Kaiyumuddin in Power Breaking Bias, Santvani Trivedi and Melissa Srivastava in Power Music Creator, Natasha Gandhi and Kriti Bhoutika in Power Food Creator, Neha Singh and Vibha Mahajan in Power Fitness Icon, and Aleena Qureshi with Srishti Ganguli and Salonie Patel in Power Podcaster Creator.

The awards positioned digital creators not simply as online personalities but as voices shaping conversations around identity, community, self expression, and visibility. In doing so, the Women’s Edition placed the spotlight on how creator led storytelling continues to influence India’s wider entertainment and media landscape.
