Bird Academy to host five day programme from March 16 to 20, 2026 with IATA certification valid for 24 months

Bird Academy, the education arm of the Bird Group and an IATA accredited Regional Training Partner, has opened applications for its specialised IATA Competency Based Training and Assessment course for Dangerous Goods Instructors. The classroom programme will be conducted from March 16 to 20, 2026 at the academy’s training centre in New Delhi.
Delivered by an official International Air Transport Association instructor, the five day course is aligned with IATA’s Dangerous Goods Training Guidance and DGR Section 1.5. The programme is designed to help instructors adopt globally aligned competency based training standards and enhance instructional effectiveness across aviation and logistics operations.

Spanning 40 hours over five days, the course will focus on strengthening CBTA compliant training capabilities for dangerous goods trainers, assessors, and supervisors. Participants will gain practical exposure to planning and delivering competency focused sessions using active learning techniques and structured methodologies. The curriculum includes adult learning principles, facilitation strategies, communication techniques, and the design and development of CBTA based dangerous goods training modules.

The programme is recommended for dangerous goods instructors, trainers, assessors, supervisors, and organisations seeking IATA CBTA Center certification. Applicants must have completed a relevant dangerous goods training programme and hold a valid certification. The last date to register is February 28, 2026.
Participants who successfully complete the course will receive an IATA Certificate of Completion valid for 24 months. A distinction will be awarded to those scoring 90 percent or higher, while a minimum score of 80 percent is required to obtain certification.

Bird Academy continues to build its presence as a training institute offering globally aligned aviation and logistics programmes.
Established in 1998 as part of the Bird Education Society for Travel and Tourism, Bird Academy trains thousands of students annually across aviation, travel, tourism, and hospitality sectors. The institution has been a DGCA approved centre for Dangerous Goods Regulations training since 2008 and now offers ICAO mandated CBTA programmes aimed at strengthening aviation safety and regulatory compliance. In addition to professional training, the academy supports CSR initiatives focused on skill development and employability across communities.
