The eighth edition of the Times of India Sports Awards will be held on March 21 in Lucknow, bringing together athletes across cricket, athletics, shooting and para sports after a year of global and continental performances

India’s growing presence across multiple sporting disciplines is set to come into focus as the Times of India Sports Awards returns with its eighth edition in Lucknow on March 21, 2026.
The event, hosted at The Centrum Hotel, reflects a year where performances extended beyond a single sport, with achievements recorded across cricket, athletics, badminton, shooting and para sports. The awards aim to bring these varied accomplishments into a unified platform.

The shortlist spans categories across male and female athletes, emerging sportspersons, coaches and teams. It includes representation from disciplines such as chess, boxing, hockey, table tennis and wrestling, alongside para sport categories that recognise performances in events such as para athletics, para archery and para badminton.
This year also marks a shift in format, with the ceremony opening to the public for the first time. The move expands the event’s reach and allows wider engagement with audiences interested in following India’s sporting progress.

The nominations reflect performances across international competitions, including global tournaments and continental championships, highlighting the increasing consistency of Indian athletes across stages.
Team based achievements are also part of the recognition, with categories featuring national teams across cricket, hockey, kabaddi and shooting. The inclusion of both individual and team categories presents a broader view of how Indian sport continues to evolve across formats.

The awards are positioned as a platform that brings together achievements from different parts of the sporting ecosystem. By presenting multiple disciplines within a single event, TOISA 2025 reflects the depth and diversity of India’s sporting landscape over the past year.
