Anthony Daniel, Chief Business Officer, ETO Motors, details execution under South Central Railway as subsidiary of AION Tech Solutions Limited manages ground logistics integration
Hyderabad, February 27, 2026: Indian Railways has operationalised RailParcel, a pilot initiative aimed at improving parcel movement across seven cities under the leadership of the South Central Railway zone, integrating structured first and last mile logistics into the rail network.
As part of the pilot, ETO Motors, a subsidiary of AION Tech Solutions Limited, has been onboarded as logistics partner to South Central Railway, managing first and last mile parcel delivery operations across Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Rajahmundry, Visakhapatnam, Bengaluru and Chennai. The deployment focuses on strengthening coordination between railway terminals and end customers during the pilot phase.
RailParcel is designed as a customer facing parcel movement solution to enhance shipment visibility and streamline operational workflows across India’s rail network. The pilot supports modernisation of parcel handling systems while enabling more efficient and environmentally responsible logistics movement through rail.
Anthony Daniel, Chief Business Officer, ETO Motors, said, “The RailParcel pilot demonstrates how structured first and last mile logistics can effectively complement large scale rail transportation networks. Through this engagement, we are integrating our electric mobility led logistics capabilities into rail linked supply chains and supporting more seamless connectivity between railway terminals and end customers. Working with South Central Railway on this pilot allows us to strengthen operational readiness in sustainable parcel movement and contribute to more efficient multimodal logistics frameworks.”
Under the current pilot deployment, ETO Motors is managing on ground parcel transfers across three cities, facilitating movement between designated railway terminals and customer delivery points. The rollout is aligned with scheduled rail operations to ensure timely execution.
By combining electric vehicle based first and last mile mobility with rail driven mid mile movement, the initiative establishes an integrated operational model during the pilot phase. The structured ground level execution supports improved service consistency and more effective utilisation of rail linked parcel capacity.
Through its integration with South Central Railway, ETO Motors positions itself within emerging multimodal logistics ecosystems, contributing to scalable and low emission parcel movement frameworks.
