Mumbai, March 9, 2026: Growing participation by women in India’s motorcycling community was reflected in a Women’s Day ride that brought together more than 50 riders in Noida to promote road safety awareness, health and responsible riding practices.
The ride was supported by SMK Helmets and organised by the riding group Angels and Roadsters. Participants gathered early in the morning at Bikeaholic Progears in Sector 104 before beginning a convoy ride through Noida that concluded at Fortis Hospital in Sector 63.

More than 50 women riders took part in the event, with around 40 percent of the participants belonging to the SMK riding community. The initiative highlighted the importance of protective riding gear as women riders increasingly become part of India’s growing motorcycling culture.
Participants rode wearing SMK helmets, reinforcing the importance of safety equipment as an essential part of modern motorcycling. The event also brought together partner organisations including Fortis Hospital, Red FM and Travel Mixture, who supported the initiative promoting safety awareness, wellbeing and community engagement.

Mr Aditya Verma, General Manager, Sales and Marketing, SMK Helmets, said the spirit of motorcycling combines freedom with responsibility for every rider. He said the Ride Free Ride Safe initiative reflects the idea that riders should pursue their passion while prioritising safety, protection and wellbeing.
The ride also reflected a wider shift in India’s motorcycling landscape, where more women are taking up riding as a form of independence, adventure and community engagement. Riding groups across the country have reported increasing participation by women riders who are helping redefine motorcycling culture while emphasising safe and responsible riding practices.

As part of the event, participants received special giveaways including the SMK Stellar Sport helmet designed to support rider safety and comfort.
Community initiatives such as the Women’s Day ride continue to highlight the importance of safety awareness while encouraging greater participation of women in motorcycling communities across India.
