Belgravia hotel brings together fashion, music and East Asian creative voices for a London-led Lunar New Year celebration in partnership with RED FLAGGED. The Peninsula London welcomed leading figures from the city’s art, fashion and cultural circles for its inaugural Lunar New Year celebration, hosting an evening that blended contemporary London creativity with longstanding Asian traditions.
Held across Little Blue Bar and Canton Blue, the event was developed in collaboration with RED FLAGGED, the London-based cultural consultancy that champions East and Southeast Asian creative communities. The celebration marked the Year of the Horse through a mix of dining, music and curated artistic interventions. The evening’s soundtrack was led by ZEE-2, known for blending house, R&B and global rhythms, alongside Clara Rosa, whose cinematic DJ sets have gained a following across London’s creative scene. Together, they set the tone for a late-night gathering that felt distinctly rooted in the capital’s current cultural landscape.
Guests included designers Chet Lo and Oscar Ouyang, musician Mutya Buena, actors Gemma Chan and Christopher Chung, along with media and cultural commentators from across London. At Canton Blue, attendees experienced a menu featuring signature dishes alongside Lunar New Year specials. Guests were invited into the kitchen to observe dim sum being prepared before tasting it, paired with crafted baijiu cocktails. The culinary experience was complemented by a 3-D textile installation by Shanghai-based artist Lin Fanglu, curated in partnership with the V&A under The Peninsula’s global Art in Resonance programme.
Adding to the evening’s cultural texture, Mahjong specialists Four Winds guided guests through limited-edition sets, while luxury chauffeur service Wheely facilitated transport to and from the event. Lunar New Year remains an important moment across The Peninsula Hotels portfolio, celebrated annually across its 12 global properties. At The Peninsula London, the occasion was interpreted through a contemporary London lens, combining heritage, hospitality and the city’s creative energy in equal measure.
