Agreement signed in Bengaluru integrates SAP technologies and certifications into programmes, strengthening India Germany academic collaboration and digital skills training
Industry and academic collaborations are gaining importance as institutions and companies work together to address the demand for digital skills, with SRH University extending its partnership with SAP Labs India.
The agreement, signed in Bengaluru, expands an existing collaboration between the two organisations, bringing practice oriented education and industry exposure to students in India.
Under the partnership, SRH University will integrate SAP learning content and certification pathways into its academic programmes. Students will work with SAP technologies and participate in live projects, enabling hands on experience aligned with industry requirements.
The collaboration also includes the joint development of new degree programmes focused on digital competencies, aimed at improving employability across global markets.
Dr Thorsten Bagschik, Managing Director, SRH University, said, “We are combining our practice oriented German higher education with the dynamism of the Indian technology markets.”
Sindhu Gangadharan, Managing Director, SAP Labs India, said, “Industry and academia must work closely together to prepare talent for a rapidly evolving digital economy. By extending our partnership to India, we are creating new opportunities for students to build enterprise technology skills that are directly relevant to global business needs.”
Andre Bechtold, President SAP Industries and Experiences, said companies are increasingly looking for talent that can integrate processes, data and technology to respond to changing business environments.
The partnership builds on SRH University’s existing presence among Indian students, with more than 2000 enrolled across its campuses in Germany.
The initiative comes at a time when global workforce trends indicate significant shifts in skill requirements. According to projections, millions of new roles are expected to emerge alongside automation driven changes, increasing the need for applied digital skills and industry aligned education.
Through this collaboration, students will gain exposure to enterprise technologies during their studies, with a focus on practical learning and career readiness in the global job market.
