Joy Chatterjee, Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing for Consumer Division at Mankind Pharma, says the initiative aims to encourage open conversations as nearly one in five Indian mothers experience depression after childbirth.
National, March 5, 2026: PregaNews, the pregnancy detection brand from Mankind Pharma, has released a digital film ahead of International Women’s Day drawing attention to postpartum experiences, a phase often overlooked despite being one of the most emotionally and physically demanding periods in a woman’s life. In India, nearly one in five mothers experience postpartum depression, yet many continue to struggle quietly, often hesitant to seek support because of fear of judgement or misunderstanding. The campaign film reflects how postpartum struggles are frequently normalised in everyday conversations, where new mothers are expected to accept exhaustion, emotional strain and discomfort without openly expressing their feelings.
Through relatable moments and everyday storytelling, the film seeks to encourage a more supportive environment where women feel comfortable sharing their experiences without hesitation or stigma. The initiative highlights the importance of empathy and understanding during the early stages of motherhood. Joy Chatterjee, Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing for Consumer Division, Mankind Pharma, said, “At PregaNews, we believe that supporting women goes beyond pregnancy detection. Motherhood is a deeply personal journey, and every woman deserves understanding and empathy during this transformative phase. Through this campaign, we hope to encourage meaningful conversations around postpartum experiences and help create an environment where women feel heard, supported and reassured.”
The film was conceptualised and executed by Shweta Bhuchar, Co Founder and Producer, and Gaurav Bhardwaj, Co Founder and Director at SG Dream Media. It focuses on portraying the quiet realities many new mothers experience but rarely articulate. With this Women’s Day initiative, PregaNews continues its engagement in women’s health conversations, addressing not only pregnancy milestones but also the emotional and physical realities that follow childbirth. The campaign film is available across PregaNews digital platforms.
