350 MW capacity targeted by 2028 with full 1 GW by 2030; project combines carbon-free power, data centre infrastructure and high-performance chips under a vertically integrated AI model
Noida, Uttar Pradesh, February 16, 2026: AM Group has commenced development of a 1 GW High Performance Compute hub in Uttar Pradesh, following the Memorandum of Understanding signed with Invest UP, Government of Uttar Pradesh, in Davos on January 20, 2026.
AM AI Labs, an affiliate of AM Group, has received a letter of intent from the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority for allocation of land parcels to establish the first two phases of the project. The initial phases will comprise 150 MW and 200 MW of compute capacity, forming part of the cumulative 1 GW AI and High-Performance Computing data centre planned in the state.
The project aims to bring 350 MW of compute capacity online by 2028, with the full 1 GW expected to be operational by 2030. The company estimates an investment of approximately $25 billion, alongside deployment of nearly 500,000 high-performance chips.
The compute platform is designed as a vertically integrated model spanning owned carbon-free power generation, data centre infrastructure, high-performance chips, software stack, applications, and consumption models ranging from AI Pods as a Service to Tokens as a Service. The energy backbone will draw on renewable energy and pumped storage assets managed through an in-house cloud energy architecture.
According to the company, India is currently the second largest AI tokens consumption market. The domestically generated tokens are expected to serve both domestic and global markets for training, inference and advanced AI applications.
“This is an enormously ambitious project, and that is exactly what excites us. AM Group has done this before. In green hydrogen and ammonia, we set out to deliver the lowest cost molecules in the world, and we are doing it,” said Anil Chalamalasetty, Group Chairman, AM Group.
He added, “We bring the same conviction to AI. Our goal is to deliver the lowest cost, most efficient AI tokens on the planet, powered by clean energy we own and operate. By integrating the full value chain from power generation through silicon to token delivery, we can optimise across layers in ways that no single segment player can. Uttar Pradesh and India deserve world class AI infrastructure, and with the support of the State Government, we are building it.”
AMG AI Labs has developed an end-to-end AI platform covering provisioning, orchestration, virtualisation, inference and training frameworks, networking, compliance and storage. The platform is designed to operate across heterogeneous accelerators, including GPUs, and is engineered for deployment across cloud, edge and dedicated infrastructure environments.
The project is positioned in alignment with India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision and is expected to generate high-skilled employment while attracting foreign direct investment into the state.
AM Group is promoted by the founders of Greenko Group and operates a renewable energy platform through Greenko Energy Holdings, which manages 12 GW of energy infrastructure across multiple states, with plans to scale to 50 GW by 2030.
