Armed forces personnel get a separate domestic fare category on ixigo

Rajnish Kumar and Aloke Bajpai said the fares are available to serving and retired personnel and their dependants

Mumbai, India, January 20, 2026: ixigo has introduced a separate domestic airfare category for armed forces personnel, extending the benefit to both serving and retired members as well as their dependants.
The fare category applies to select domestic flights operated by IndiGo, Air India, Akasa Air, and SpiceJet. Eligible travellers can access the fares by selecting the Armed Forces option while searching for domestic flights on the ixigo app or website.

To complete a booking, travellers are required to enter a valid Armed Forces or Dependant ID number in the traveller details section before making the payment. Passengers must also carry the original Armed Forces, Military, or Dependant ID card and present it at airport check-in for verification.

Rajnish Kumar, Group Co-CEO, ixigo, and Aloke Bajpai, Group CEO, ixigo, said the initiative is intended to recognise the service of armed forces personnel while making air travel more accessible for them and their families. They said the platform aims to offer a dedicated booking experience through curated fare options designed for ease of use.
The company said the fare category offers discounts of up to 25 percent on eligible flights and is available across select routes within India.
