The five day literature festival brings together writers, poets, performers, and thinkers from across India
Moradabad is set to take on a larger cultural role in western Uttar Pradesh with the hosting of Udeesha 2026, a five day literature and cultural festival scheduled from January 22 to January 26, 2026. The festival is positioned as an open platform for literature, art, music, and public dialogue, bringing nationally recognised voices together with regional talent.
Udeesha 2026 aims to place Moradabad on the cultural map by creating a shared space for writers, poets, journalists, performers, and cultural thinkers. The programme has been designed to encourage participation from students, readers, artists, and citizens, while also acknowledging the city’s own literary and cultural heritage.
The festival will open on January 22 with special performances by actor Ashutosh Rana and singer Sukhwinder Singh. Over the following days, the festival will feature sessions and performances by poet Wasim Barelvi, author Chetan Bhagat, journalist Saurabh Dwivedi, food historian Pushpesh Pant, poet Gauhar Raza, writer and screenwriter Akshat Gupta, television personality Ila Arun, poet academic Kumar Vishwas, lyricist Alok Srivastava, and singer actor Manoj Tiwari, among others.
Events will be hosted across multiple venues in the city, including Dushyant Manch, Ramganga Lawns, and Jaun Elia Zone. The schedule includes literary discussions, poetry readings, a Grand Mushaira, Dastangoi sessions, theatre, folk and classical music performances, Bhojpuri cultural programmes, workshops, and conversations on cinema, media, technology, spirituality, and Indian knowledge traditions.
Most sessions at Udeesha 2026 will be free and open to the public, reflecting the festival’s focus on accessibility and community participation. By encouraging open dialogue and cultural exchange, the festival seeks to broaden public engagement with literature and the arts beyond metropolitan centres.
With its multi day format and inclusive programming, Udeesha 2026 positions Moradabad as an emerging cultural destination, offering a platform that connects national discourse with regional voices in an open civic setting.
