Antara Agarwal becomes the first Indian student at Lycée Français International de Delhi to receive the prestigious France Excellence Major scholarship, while the Class of 2026 records a 100 percent Baccalauréat pass rate.

The Lycée Français International de Delhi (LFID) celebrated its annual graduation ceremony, where Ambassador of France to India Thierry Mathou presented certificates to the graduating Class of 2026.
The ceremony also marked a milestone for the institution as Antara Agarwal became the first Indian student to receive the France Excellence Major scholarship, one of the most competitive scholarships awarded to outstanding non-French students from the global AEFE network.

Managed by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs through AEFE and Campus France, the scholarship supports recipients pursuing higher education in France by providing financial assistance and academic guidance for up to five years.
Valérie Beaubeau, Principal of LFID, said the scholarship is awarded based on academic excellence, a student’s study plan and admission to a higher education institution in France.
The graduating class also maintained the school’s academic record by achieving a 100 percent pass rate in the French Baccalauréat examination.

Congratulating the graduates, Ambassador Thierry Mathou said, “Education is one of the strongest bridges connecting France and India, and today we celebrate the excellence that continues to strengthen this bond.” He added that France aims to welcome 30,000 Indian students by 2030 and encouraged the graduates to continue their academic journeys with curiosity and resilience.
Sharing her thoughts, Antara Agarwal said the scholarship reflected years of support from her teachers, parents and classmates. She expressed hope that her achievement would encourage more Indian students to pursue higher education in France.

Her father, Arpit Agarwal, said LFID had provided an international learning environment that prepares students for leading universities across the world through critical thinking and creativity.
Established in 1960, the Lycée Français International de Delhi is part of the AEFE network, which includes more than 612 schools across 138 countries. The school serves students from over 35 nationalities and offers the French curriculum with multilingual education in French, English and other international languages.
