Samsung India engaged 247 students in Golaghat and Hyderabad through design thinking sessions focused on local challenges, technology use and youth led problem solving.
Samsung India conducted Solve for Tomorrow Design Thinking Workshops in Assam and Hyderabad as part of its nationwide 100 city rollout.
The workshops were held at Furkating Senior Secondary School in Golaghat, Assam, and Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology in Hyderabad. The sessions engaged 74 students in Assam and 173 students in Hyderabad, bringing together 247 participants.
The workshops introduced students to design thinking methods to help them identify local problems, understand user needs and explore technology based solutions.
At Furkating Senior Secondary School, 16 year old Jafrein Rahman worked on a concept for smart waste bins aimed at improving plastic segregation at the point of disposal. His idea includes sensors and QR code based guidance to help reduce mixed plastic waste reaching landfills and water bodies.
At CBIT Hyderabad, 14 year old A.K. Ashritha focused on hearing health. Students T. Nithya and T. Sreelaasya, both 13, examined mobility challenges faced by visually impaired people, senior citizens and individuals with limited mobility, with a focus on safer road crossings.
The workshops are part of Samsung Solve for Tomorrow, which focuses on four areas: AI for a Better Tomorrow, Health and Education, Environmental Sustainability, and Sport Tech.
Samsung said Solve for Tomorrow has engaged more than 2,500 students through design thinking workshops this year as it expands to 100 cities.
Applications for Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026 are open until 3 July 2026. The top four winning teams will receive incubation grants worth ₹2 crore, along with mentorship and prototyping support through FITT, IIT Delhi.
