Former XIM University Vice Chancellor succeeds Fr. Nelson A. D’Silva, S.J. and assumes charge from July 1, 2026 to lead the institute’s Delhi–NCR campus.
XLRI has appointed Fr. Antony R. Uvari, S.J. as the Director of its Delhi–NCR campus with effect from July 1, 2026.
He succeeds Fr. Nelson A. D’Silva, S.J., who will assume the role of President of the Delhi Jesuit Society.
An alumnus of XLRI, Jamshedpur, Fr. Uvari holds a postgraduate degree from the institute and a Ph.D. from the University of Madras. He brings more than 18 years of academic, administrative and leadership experience across leading management institutions in India.
In his new role, Fr. Uvari will focus on strengthening academic excellence, industry partnerships, interdisciplinary learning and student development at the Delhi–NCR campus.
His academic career includes faculty positions at Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) and XLRI, where he also served as Dean of Administration, Associate Dean, Chairperson of Admissions and Professor.
Fr. Uvari later served as Associate Director of XIMB and Registrar of XIM University before becoming Vice Chancellor of XIM University from September 2019 to September 2025. His academic experience also includes visiting faculty assignments at Loyola University Maryland.
His research focuses on leadership, human resource management and organisational effectiveness. He has published research in national and international journals, developed teaching case studies and conducted management development programmes for corporate and development sector organisations.
Speaking on his appointment, Fr. Antony R. Uvari, S.J., said, “I accept this responsibility with deep gratitude and a profound sense of mission. Having journeyed with the XLRI community over the years, it is a privilege to now serve as Director at a time when the institution is poised for its next phase of growth.”
Fr. Alwyn Rodrigues, S.J., Dean (Administration and Finance), XLRI, welcomed the appointment and said Fr. Uvari’s academic and leadership experience would support the continued growth of the Delhi–NCR campus. He also acknowledged the contribution of Fr. Nelson A. D’Silva, S.J. during his tenure.
Established in 2020, the XLRI Delhi–NCR campus has expanded its academic programmes and industry engagement while continuing the institute’s focus on developing responsible and values-driven management professionals.
