Andhra Pradesh’s Class X pass rate rose to 85.25 percent, with government schools improving to 78.39 percent after a 100 day academic plan built around tests, tracking, bilingual material, and focused support

Andhra Pradesh has reported an improvement in Class X board results after a 100 day academic plan led by Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh, with the state’s overall pass percentage rising to 85.25 percent from 81.1 percent last year.
The programme was carried out across government schools between December 2025 and March 2026. It combined regular assessment, daily monitoring, and targeted academic support to help teachers identify learning gaps and respond faster.

Students took 46 low pressure slip tests during the period. Their performance was recorded on the LEAP mobile app and reviewed through daily dashboards, allowing schools to track progress and adjust teaching based on student needs.
A major part of the plan was the grouping of students into Shining Stars and Rising Stars based on performance data. Teaching support was then adapted for each group, along with subject wise doubt clearing systems. The state also provided bilingual question banks and study material in Telugu and English to support students with different language strengths.

For students who were behind in assessments, the government introduced a 30 day residential programme. Pre final and grand tests were also conducted to improve preparation and reduce exam pressure.
The improvement was visible in government schools, where the pass percentage rose from 72.8 percent to 78.39 percent. Only five government schools reported zero results.

Girls performed better than boys, recording a pass percentage of 87.90 percent compared with 82.68 percent among boys.
Officials said welfare support also helped improve attendance and focus. Measures such as free uniforms, textbooks, nutritional support, and direct financial assistance to families were linked with the academic plan.
Nara Lokesh said, “This outcome shows what is possible when planning, execution and monitoring come together with a clear goal. The 100 day action plan was designed to ensure that every student gets the right support at the right time. While we are encouraged by the improvement, our focus remains on strengthening foundational learning, infrastructure and holistic development across government schools.”
The state is now looking to refine the approach further in the coming academic cycles, with a focus on public school learning outcomes and student support.
