Shalini S, a Christel House India Bengaluru student who scored 99.16 percent and secured Karnataka State fifth rank, is now preparing to pursue Chartered Accountancy with support from the organisation’s College and Careers programme.
Christel House India has recorded a 100 percent Grade 12 board examination pass rate for the eighth consecutive year, with a student from its Bengaluru campus securing Karnataka State fifth rank.
The Class of 2026 results saw 75 percent of students secure distinction, while the remaining 25 percent achieved first class, continuing the organisation’s academic performance record among students from underserved communities.
Shalini S emerged as one of the standout performers, scoring 99.16 percent with 595 out of 600 marks and securing centum in all core subjects.
A student of Christel House India since joining kindergarten in 2013, Shalini grew up in a one room home in Yeshwantpur. The daughter of an auto rickshaw driver and a homemaker, she said education was always seen as essential in her family.
“There was never a point where I thought of stopping my education. It has always been my hope to build a better life for my family and me,” she said.
During her board exam preparation, her mother’s illness created uncertainty at home, but she said support from her family and school helped her remain focused.
“It was a difficult time, but my mother kept encouraging me to stay focused. My family made sure I had the space to study. At the same time, the support I received at school, both academically and in the form of counselling, made it easier to stay consistent and keep going,” she said.
Christel House India said its education model combines academic support with access to meals, transport, counselling, and healthcare, helping students maintain consistency through high pressure academic phases.
Shalini said she followed a structured study routine while balancing breaks to manage stress.
“I used to tell myself to complete two hours of study and then reward myself. That balance helped me keep going,” she said.
After Grade 10, she chose commerce over science because of her interest in finance and now plans to pursue Chartered Accountancy through Christel House India’s College and Careers programme, which provides scholarships, mentorship, and career guidance for up to five years after Grade 12.
Established in 2000, Christel House India provides free education and long term student support for children from underserved communities, extending assistance from early education into higher studies and employment pathways.
