Heavy-Duty Tillage Segment Sees Structural Upgrade as Mahindra Introduces Enhanced Rotavator Frame

Hyderabad, February 27, 2026: India’s heavy-duty tillage equipment segment is witnessing a structural refresh as Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Business introduces an upgraded rotavator platform in Telangana, engineered around an enhanced mast frame designed to improve load-bearing strength, stability and long-term durability.
The redesigned series, positioned within the heavy-duty category under the Mahavator and Mahavator HD platforms, spans working widths from 4 to 9 feet. At the core of the upgrade is a wider mast configuration intended to deliver improved torque handling during deep tillage operations, particularly across compacted and uneven soil conditions.

The structural redesign reflects growing demand from progressive farmers seeking equipment capable of sustained performance under intensive agricultural cycles. Telangana, with its diverse soil types and mechanisation-driven cultivation practices, forms the first phase of the rollout.
Dr. Anusha Kothandaraman, Vice President and Head International Operations and Business Head Farm Machinery, Mahindra Farm Equipment Business, said rotavators remain central to soil preparation efficiency and crop cycle optimisation. She noted that the new platform has been developed to combine functional reinforcement with improved visual identity, enhancing both operational capability and equipment ownership value. The rollout will proceed in phases across Mahindra’s dealer network in the state.

Unlike cosmetic refreshes, the revised platform focuses on structural reinforcement to withstand higher stress loads, repetitive tillage cycles and wear-intensive applications. Improved mast geometry enhances weight distribution, contributing to better handling balance during field operations.
The new series will gradually replace select existing heavy-duty variants, while Mahindra continues to offer its broader rotavator portfolio to serve varied farming requirements.

In addition to the structural upgrade, Mahindra introduced a limited tricolour-inspired edition in Metallic Orange, Everest White and Metallic Green across select Mahavator HD, Supervator and Gyrovator ZLX+ variants. The edition has been positioned as a tribute to India’s farming community.
Mahindra also continues to offer its patented Intelligent Rotavator under the Tez-e brand, integrating Bluetooth-enabled technology that transmits real-time operational insights to a mobile application, supporting precision-driven tillage management.

Manufactured at dedicated facilities in Nabha, Punjab and Zaheerabad, Telangana, Mahindra’s rotavator portfolio is designed and tested to address diverse soil profiles across domestic and export markets. The introduction of the reinforced mast platform signals a strategic focus on structural engineering within India’s expanding farm mechanisation landscape.
