BLUE has launched an AI first enterprise video infrastructure platform designed to reduce storage, bandwidth and computing costs while enabling organisations to transform conventional CCTV systems into searchable, AI ready data assets.

Bengaluru based startup BLUE has introduced an AI native video infrastructure platform built on what it describes as the world’s first semantic video codec, with deployments across leading enterprises in India and expansion underway in the United States, Africa and Sri Lanka.

As enterprises generate increasing volumes of surveillance footage, managing storage, network bandwidth and computing resources has become a growing operational challenge. Bengaluru based AI startup BLUE has introduced an AI native video infrastructure platform that aims to address these concerns while positioning video data as a resource for business intelligence rather than simply archived recordings.
Developed by KGraph AI Solutions Private Limited, the platform is built around what the company describes as the world’s first semantic codec for videos. Unlike conventional video compression technologies that primarily reduce file size, semantic compression focuses on encoding meaningful visual information, allowing organisations to process, search and analyse surveillance footage more efficiently.

According to the company, the platform can reduce camera streaming and storage requirements by up to 80 per cent, lower network bandwidth consumption by as much as 90 per cent and decrease storage costs by up to ten times. It also claims to reduce computing requirements for semantic video retrieval by between five and ten times, contributing to lower operational expenditure.
The launch comes at a time when enterprises are expanding surveillance infrastructure to meet regulatory and operational requirements. Industry estimates cited by the company indicate that video storage represents between 40 and 60 per cent of the total lifecycle cost of surveillance systems, while energy and cooling account for an additional 10 to 20 per cent. Organisations implementing AI enabled surveillance often face even higher infrastructure costs due to increased processing requirements.

BLUE seeks to address these challenges by transforming traditional CCTV infrastructure into an AI ready video data layer. The platform combines AI based compression, intelligent streaming, semantic storage, Retrieval Augmented Generation enabled indexing and an agent first architecture, allowing organisations to retrieve and analyse video content using contextual search rather than manual review.
Within six months of its commercial deployment, the platform has been adopted by organisations including Britannia Industries, Haldiram’s, HPCL, CPRL, the McDonald’s licensee for North and East India, and Mumbai Aviation Fuel Farm Facility Private Limited. The company has also initiated deployments in the United States while conducting pilot projects in Africa and Sri Lanka.

Commenting on the launch, Kunal Kislay, Chief Executive Officer of BLUE, said, “Today, more than a billion CCTV cameras are deployed worldwide, yet the vast majority of video generated by these systems remains an untapped source of enterprise intelligence. We believe this represents one of the largest opportunities for AI to transform enterprise operations.”
He added that the company has publicly released benchmarking results comparing its semantic codec with existing compression standards, while outlining BLUE’s ambition to achieve ten fold revenue growth by the financial year 2030.
