Jayant Chaudhary and Dell Technologies Expand Solar Community Hub Skill Vans Across Five States
National, 09 June 2026: Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, Government of India, flagged off five new Solar Community Hub Skill Vans aimed at expanding digital inclusion and future ready skilling across India.
Developed by Dell Technologies in collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and implemented by the Learning Links Foundation, the initiative marks the next phase of Dell Technologies’ efforts to bridge the digital divide and improve access to technology driven learning.
The five new skill vans will serve communities across Uttar Pradesh, Delhi NCR, Karnataka, Telangana and Maharashtra, bringing solar powered technology, AI enabled learning tools and employability pathways directly to youth, women and underserved populations.
The expansion extends beyond basic digital literacy by introducing customised skilling modules and structured employability programmes. More than 50 vocational institutions, higher education centres and community organisations are expected to benefit from the initiative.
Each Solar Community Hub Skill Van is powered by renewable energy and equipped with laptops, interactive screens, internet connectivity and AI enabled learning resources designed to support learning and workforce readiness in locations with limited infrastructure.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, Government of India, said, “The Solar Community Hub Skill Vans reflects a shared commitment to making technology and opportunity accessible to every corner of India. These skill vans are more than digital spaces, they are centres of aspiration that combine clean energy, AI enabled learning and industry aligned skilling to prepare young people for emerging opportunities. The programme focuses on aligning training with emerging market demands, helping learners prepare for evolving employment opportunities and future workforce requirements.
Since the launch of India’s first Solar Community Hub Skill Vans in FY23, the programme has reached 18 districts across 14 states and impacted 2.67 million beneficiaries. Globally, the initiative operates 63 skill vans across 12 countries.
The expansion reinforces the shared commitment of Dell Technologies, NSDC and its partners to improving access to education, skills development and economic mobility through technology enabled solutions.
