9,100 Indian Students in France Set the Stage for Choose France Tour 2026 Across Four Cities

More than 50 French higher education institutions will meet prospective Indian students across Mumbai, Pune, New Delhi and Bengaluru during the Choose France Tour 2026, as academic mobility becomes a larger part of education ties between India and France.
Organised by the Embassy of France in India in collaboration with the French Institute in India and Campus France, the education fair will begin in Mumbai on October 11 at The Leela. It will move to Pune on October 13 at Sheraton Grand, New Delhi on October 15 at Le Méridien and Bengaluru on October 17 at Conrad. Each event will run from 2 pm to 6 pm.
The participating institutions span business, engineering, universities and specialised education in design, creative arts and hospitality. The tour is being held during the India France Year of India 2026.
The latest Campus France figures cited for the tour show that Indian enrolment in French higher education increased 17% in a year to 9,100 students during 2024 to 2025. India became the eleventh largest source country for international students in France, moving from thirteenth place the previous year.

Visa and residence permit data, which also cover exchange students and those enrolled in shorter programmes, placed the number of Indian students in France at 12,000 in 2025.
The tour follows developments in bilateral cooperation during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to France in June 2026. According to the information provided for the tour, India and France signed 19 agreements concerning their innovation ecosystems and adopted the India France Innovation Roadmap 2030 and a Joint India France AI Working Group. Education and student mobility were also identified as priority areas, with Prime Minister Modi inviting French universities to establish campuses in India.

French institutions of higher education offer outstanding programmes focused on innovation, artificial intelligence, aerospace and management, training students for a promising career not only in France but also in the international job market.. Our target to host 30,000 Indian students in France by 2030 transcends mere statistics, it represents an endeavour to foster a future engineer, researcher or entrepreneur who will help carry the France-India Special Global Strategic Partnership forward. Choose France is where that future begins.”
Engineering institutions participating in the tour include CentraleSupélec, IMT Atlantique, Mines Paris PSL, ISAE SUPAERO and ENAC through the TSAAE stand, along with EPITECH and EURECOM for computing and data related programmes.

Business and management will be represented by 19 participating schools, including ESSEC Business School, ESCP Business School, EDHEC, NEOMA Business School and KEDGE Business School.
Public universities participating include Université Paris Saclay, Université Grenobles Alpes and Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès, with programmes covering sciences, humanities and social sciences. Institutions offering education in design and hospitality will also participate.
