Five Southern States Enter PhysicsWallah’s 24 Month Expansion Focus Under Alakh Pandey

Alakh Pandey, Founder and CEO, PhysicsWallah, said he will focus on Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala as the education company expands regional language learning and begins a five year collaboration with Mohan Babu University

PhysicsWallah is placing South India at the centre of its next 24 months of expansion, with Founder and CEO Alakh Pandey committing to spend the period in the region as the education company increases its presence across five southern states.
The plan covers Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala, with PhysicsWallah looking to extend its education model and multilingual course delivery across these markets.
Speaking to students at an event in Tirupati, Pandey outlined the company’s intention to increase its reach among learners in southern India.

“Through our platform, I want to provide them the tools required to realise their potential. Since PW’s inception until today, I feel we need to create a more measurable impact in the southern part of our country. For the next 24 months, I want to dedicate my focus to states such as Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala to increase PW’s presence in these regions and bring the same quality education we provide in other states,” said Alakh Pandey, Founder and CEO, PhysicsWallah.
PhysicsWallah was founded in 2020 by Pandey and Prateek Maheshwari. According to information supplied by the company, its platforms have reached more than 40 million students since inception, while more than five million paid students enrolled during FY 2026.

The company currently operates across 16 test preparation exam categories and says it holds a market leadership position in 12 of them.
PhysicsWallah also reports a social media community reaching more than 142 million students, while its mobile application recorded more than 89.4 million cumulative downloads as of FY 2025 to 2026.
As part of its initial expansion activity in South India, PhysicsWallah has signed a five year partnership with Mohan Babu University.
Under the collaboration, PhysicsWallah will provide online artificial intelligence, skilling and career focused courses to more than 18,000 Mohan Babu University students.

Language is another component of the South India expansion. PhysicsWallah, which initially gained popularity through its Hinglish batches, now offers courses in Hindi, English, Hinglish and nine regional languages.
The multilingual approach is intended to support the company’s expansion as it increases its presence across southern states.
Reiterating his plans for the region, Pandey said, “This is my commitment to Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu. That from here on, the next 24 months, my life will be dedicated for my South Indian kids, and I’ll be stationed over here only.”
PhysicsWallah began as a YouTube channel in 2014 before the education platform was founded in 2020. It currently delivers programmes through its native application, technology enabled offline and hybrid centres and YouTube channels.

Its offerings cover test preparation, skilling, higher education coaching and education abroad programmes, with courses available across multiple languages.
