Suryaprakash Maguluri, Co Founder and CTO of CURAPOD, and Gargi Lakhanpal, Director of VridhCare Quality of Life Foundation, led the Father’s Day initiative with 35 elderly residents.
Elderly residents at Amma Nanna Old Age Home in Hyderabad received personalised pain management support as CURAPOD partnered with VridhCare Quality of Life Foundation for a Father’s Day initiative focused on senior well being.
The programme was part of CURAPOD’s 21 Days, 21 Fathers campaign, which is aimed at encouraging conversations around pain, mobility and overall health among fathers and older adults.
CURAPOD, backed by Litemed India Private Limited, is described as India’s first personalised wearable pain therapy device. VridhCare Quality of Life Foundation is a not for profit organisation working to improve the lives of elderly residents in old age homes.
As part of the initiative, CURAPOD’s founders, doctors, trainers and experts visited Amma Nanna Old Age Home and engaged with 35 senior citizens and caregivers. The team conducted demonstrations and awareness sessions on personalised, non invasive pain management technology.
Caregivers and volunteers were also trained on device usage and therapy protocols, allowing support to continue beyond the event. The programme brought together healthcare technology and community outreach to address pain management, healthy ageing and everyday comfort among elderly residents.
The visit held personal significance for Suryaprakash Maguluri, Co Founder and CTO of CURAPOD, who grew up with both his grandmothers after losing both his grandfathers at an early age. Speaking with elderly residents and addressing some of them as Thatha, meaning grandfather, reminded him of family and the need for stronger support systems for senior citizens.
Suryaprakash Maguluri said, “Many senior citizens silently live with chronic pain that affects their mobility, independence and overall quality of life. Through our partnership with VridhCare, we hope to make effective, non-invasive pain relief more accessible and help elderly residents stay active and have a pain-free life. What stood out during our visit was the resilience and positivity of the residents despite the challenges many of them face. Their outlook on life was both inspiring and humbling, and it reinforced our belief that innovation is most meaningful when it helps people live with greater comfort, dignity and confidence.”
Gargi Lakhanpal, Director of VridhCare Quality of Life Foundation, said, “This initiative is not only much needed, but also a commendable one. Seniors in old-age homes generally suffer from joint and muscle pain, which is caused by sedentary lifestyle and physical limitations. This effort could potentially lessen that debilitating impact. We hope this initiative will act as inspiration for others like Curapod to contribute in this direction. Only through collective effort can there be meaningful change.”
CURAPOD and VridhCare plan to continue the collaboration through future outreach programmes focused on senior citizens and healthier ageing.
